Get ready to indulge in the taste sensations of one of Australia's most savoured food and wine festivals when FOOD Week returns to Orange in 2025! Known as the home of the long lunch, FOOD Week is set to showcase the best of the region's seasonal produce, cool-climate wines, and vibrant culinary scene with events that promise to delight locals and visitors alike.
Running Friday, 28 March to Sunday, 6 April 2025, the festival will feature close to 100 events, from the iconic Forage—a guided culinary adventure through the vineyards—to intimate dinners, hands-on masterclasses, bustling markets, and family-friendly events. This year's theme, “Elevate Your Plate”, emphasises the importance of locally sourced produce and sustainable farming, highlighting the relationship between the region's fertile soils, passionate producers, and acclaimed chefs.
“FOOD Week is more than just a food festival; it's a celebration of the land and the people who work it,” says FOOD Week President, Charlotte Gundry. “Our region's seasonal produce and talented food and wine artisans make Orange the ultimate destination for those who appreciate high-quality, locally sourced ingredients and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.”
Festival Highlights Include:
- The iconic FORAGE: Stroll through the vineyards on a 4-kilometre scenic trail while sampling local wines and gourmet dishes crafted by some of the region's best chefs.
- The FOOD Week Night Market: Set in the vibrant heart of Orange, this family-friendly event brings together more than 50 local stallholders, offering a taste of the region's best food, wine, and beverages.
- Signature Long Lunches: Enjoy a relaxed, multi-course feast at one of Orange's picturesque wineries, showcasing seasonal produce paired with award-winning cool-climate wines.
- Masterclasses and Cooking Demonstrations: Learn from the experts with interactive sessions led by top chefs, local artisans, and winemakers.
FOOD Week has built a reputation for connecting people to place and offering a true paddock-to-plate experience, with opportunities to meet the farmers, growers, and winemakers who make this region unique. Visitors will discover why the Orange district is a standout destination for food lovers, from its summer stone fruits, to its earthy autumnal flavours of truffles and cheeses to its cool-climate Shiraz, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
