Newcastle Christmas Market

Newcastle's Christmas Market is back from Nov 16th and this year it is bigger than ever! At Monument and Grey Street, the bustling market stalls are back, offering a brilliant range of unique gifts and seasonal treats. Look out for the iconic North Pole igloo pods perched above the market, where you can cosy up with food and drinks while taking in the stunning views of Grey Street. And don't miss the return of the ever-popular Moosenwirt alpine bar, nestled in the heart of Grey Street, adding a warming touch to Newcastle's food and drink scene.

Wander through Old Eldon Square's winter wonderland, complete with a traditional carousel, a towering, illuminated Christmas tree, and a mix of local food operators bringing festive flavours to life.

Grainger Market

Head to the UK's 2nd largest shopping centre – MetroCentre to shop 'til you drop. With over 270 stores, 60 places to eat and loads of leisure attractions on offer you won't want to leave!

MetroCentre has opened its doors to a number of new brands with more on the way, including Sephora; Mango and Sosander with Reiss and an official Newcastle United Club store due to open in November.

 Head to Ouseburn, a creative and inspiring neighbourhood of Newcastle, to explore a world of hand-crafted gifts, whether you're looking for a piece of art from The Biscuit Factory or boho-inspired clothing and jewellery at Flaura Rose.

Time your trip with the annual Ouseburn Open Studios (Nov 23rd & 24th) where 14 venues will open their doors to give visitors the chance to watch the artists at work and buy a range of affordable and original work from paintings, ceramics and jewellery.  

In the city centre there are Indy shops galore selling everything from Geordie-inspired gifts to vintage clothing and handmade jewellery.
