The Innsbruck region is popular among American visitors: in the past tourism year, approximately 72,000 Americans spent around 145,000 overnight stays in the region, with daily expenses of about 320 euros—double the average guest's spending. Safety, tradition, pleasure, and Tyrolean hospitality are key travel
motivations. For winter sports enthusiasts, there will be yet another reason to stay in the capital of the Alps in the 2024/25 winter season: the Indy Pass has added the Innsbruck region, alongside the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser Brixental, as its second European destination. Season pass holders can now enjoy two days
of skiing in the twelve ski areas in and around Innsbruck and gain access to selected attractions in the city.
Barbara Plattner, Managing Director of Innsbruck Tourism, emphasizes the importance of this partnership: “The philosophy of Indy Pass, focusing on independent and smaller ski areas, fits perfectly with our region and the SKI plus CITY Pass. With the city of Innsbruck and its numerous attractions, pass
holders can also enjoy urban and cultural experiences that are unmatched in such proximity to ski slopes within any other pass network.”
Founded by Doug Fish, the Indy Pass is one of the three major season ski passes in the US. Alongside the two large pass networks Ikon and Epic, which primarily include the largest resorts, Indy Pass has established itself as an affordable “boutique” season pass for smaller and independent ski areas, with around 200,000 pass holders in the US. Its main goal is to provide people with the joy and quality of skiing and to inspire children to take up the sport. The Indy Pass includes over 200 partner resorts, primarily in the US, but also some select ski areas in Canada and Japan, and now, for the first time, the Innsbruck region.
“We are very excited to include the SKI plus CITY Pass in Innsbruck and Stubai in our European offering for the upcoming season. The city and the surrounding ski areas are world-renowned, and we are honored to share them with our US pass holders,” explains Doug Fish, founder of Indy Pass.
