Malvern Hills District Council (MHDC) is working with the local Town Crier to spread cheer and encourage people to support local businesses during the festive period.
MHDC is encouraging people to support their town centre traders and to take on the challenge to purchase all their Christmas shopping locally.
Shoppers can plan their Christmas spending by visiting the 'Visit the Malverns' website for a list of shops across the district.
The Malvern Hills District is full of seasonal shopping opportunities and bursting with independent shops across the town centres.
There is lots on offer, including handmade arts, crafts, antiques, curios, homewares and furniture, clothes, accessories and haberdashery, garden centres, nurseries and florists, cards and jewellery, books and vinyl, food and drink, and of course, toys.
Mike Fray, Malvern's Town Crier, will be making public announcements at events across the district in Great Malvern, Barnards Green, Malvern Link, Tenbury Wells, and Upton upon Severn.
He will be at the following locations:
- Great Malvern Farmers' Market on 16 November from 12pm to 2pm
- Tenbury Mistletoe Festival on 7 December from 12pm to 3pm
- Upton Christmas Market on 8 December from 12pm to 3pm
- Tenbury Football Club on 12 December from 3pm to 4.30pm
- Malvern Town Football Club on 14 December from 2.30pm to 4pm
Cllr Julie Wood, Portfolio Holder for Economic Development and Tourism at Malvern Hills District Council, said: “We are so excited to see that the Town Crier will be making proclamations over the festive period. He will be making his debut at the Great Malvern Farmers' Market this weekend, so don't miss him! It is great opportunity to find that perfect Christmas gift and to explore our wonderful town centre shops”.
