VANITY GROUP Launches DILKARA: Celebrating Indigenous Australian Beauty and Heritage through Hotel Essentials

VANITY GROUP is proud to announce the launch of DILKARA, an indigenous brand that merges cultural heritage with modern beauty. The name DILKARA, meaning "rainbow" in Indigenous Australian language stemming from the Eastern regions of Indigenous communities. Julie uses the First Nations language to embody the reflection of the vibrant colours found in hair, and the diverse skin tones of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. This launch signifies a meaningful step in celebrating and sharing the values of First Nations people, traditions, and storytelling through the hotel collection.

Founded by Julie Okely, a proud Kamilaroi woman from Coonabarabran, NSW, DILKARA aims to educate the global community about Indigenous Australians and foster reconciliation between cultures. "Our mission is to bridge the gap by sharing our heritage and knowledge with the world," says Julie.

Ingredients sourced from Indigenous communities are at the heart of DILKARA's formulations. Renowned for their healing qualities, these blends are infused with traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander native bush essences, designed to thrive in our extremely harsh Australian climate. The Bamal Collection will serve as the signature hotel collection to recognise as many Indigenous communities as possible to encompass the diverse Indigenous communities still present in Australia. "Bamal" means "Earth" in the Dharawal language and is inspired by the beginning of Australia's Dreamtime, infused with traditional native aromas drawn from the expansive Australian bush. Key extracts include Kakadu Plum, Lemon Myrtle, and Sandalwood.

As part of the collection's commitment to giving back, the DILKARA Hotel Collection donates 5% of profits to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. This initiative helps bridge the gap in literacy, empowering Indigenous children and communities through the gift of reading and education, while ensuring the preservation of language and culture for future generations.

The exclusive DILKARA hotel collection offers a luxury shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and body lotion in 30ml tubes and 500ml refillable bottles. In line with DILKARA's commitment to sustainability, the DILKARA hotel collection is certified to the Global Recycled Standard, ensuring that at least 50% of the materials used are sourced from recycled content that meets strict environmental and ethical standards. The DILKARA hotel collection will be distributed exclusively through VANITY GROUP.
