Koh Samui, Thailand - Kimpton Kitalay Samui, the idyllic island resort on Koh Samui's pristine northeast shore, has been honored with a highly prestigious MICHELIN Key in the MICHELIN Guide's first-ever selection of outstanding hotels and resorts in Thailand, positioning it among the finest places to stay in the kingdom.
Revealed on September 25, 2024, the inaugural MICHELIN Key awards for Thailand are designed to celebrate the country's very best hotels and resorts. Following multiple anonymous stays or visits, the Michelin Inspectors awarded MICHELIN Keys to just 58 properties, ranging from luxurious city hotels to intimate island hideaways. This affirms Kimpton Kitalay Samui's position in the highest echelons of the hospitality industry.
Kimpton Kitalay Samui achieved one MICHELIN Key, which means that the resort provides “a very special stay”.
“This is a true gem with its own character and personality,” the MICHELIN Guide says of hotels that achieve one MICHELIN Key. “It may break the mold, offer something different or simply be one of the best of its type. Service always goes the extra mile and provides significantly more than similarly priced establishments.”
With 138 elegant rooms, suites and villas nestled in a village-like ambiance on Choeng Mon Beach, overlooking the Gulf of Thailand, Kimpton Kitalay Samui exudes the tropical beauty and laid-back charm of Thailand's “Coconut Island”. With five inventive restaurants and bars, the Thai-influenced Kitavaree Spa & Wellness, a signature Olympic-sized swimming pool, a spacious kids' club and vibrant water playground, 24-hour fitness center and more, every guest can soak up the essence of island living.
“We are delighted to be recognized in the first MICHELIN Key awards for Thailand. The Michelin Inspectors are renowned for their high standards, attention to detail, and expectations of excellence. To achieve one Key demonstrates the passion and commitment of our entire team, and their dedication to creating exceptional experiences. Looking ahead, we are exciting to introduce all guests to our MICHELIN-quality hospitality at Kimpton Kitalay Samui, as we celebrate our third anniversary,” said Paul Loader, General Manager of Kimpton Kitalay Samui.
Thailand became only the second Asian country, after Japan, to see its hotel industry awarded by the MICHELIN Guide, which reflects the quality of hospitality in the “Land of Smiles”.
