Anantara Hotels & Resorts, the luxury hospitality brand for modern travellers, is delighted to announce that four of the brand's iconic properties have been recognised in the global ranking of the MICHELIN Guide Thailand, where Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort was bestowed the MICHELIN Two Key distinction, one of only 19 hotels in the country to achieve this accolade. In addition, Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel, Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort, and Anantara Hua Hin Resort were among the 31 hotels and resorts awarded the MICHELIN One Key distinction, making Anantara the most recognised luxury hotel brand in this year's MICHELIN Guide Thailand.
Celebrating the world's most outstanding hotels and resorts, the MICHELIN Keys represent the pinnacle of hospitality. Like the MICHELIN Stars for restaurants, the MICHELIN Keys are the culmination of countless hours of evaluation by Inspectors and represent the most outstanding hotels in the country.
This announcement comes four years into a comprehensive refresh of MICHELIN's hotel selection, which now includes over 5,000 hotels across the world, and not a single one is simply a room for the night. These are hotels and resorts that significantly add to the guest experience as a traveller, each vetted and judged excellent in five categories: architecture and interior design, quality and consistency of service, overall personality and character, value for the price, and a significant contribution to the guest experience in a particular setting.
MICHELIN Two Key distinction
Coined “an exceptional stay”, Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort sits at the heart of the Golden Triangle, where Thailand, Laos and Myanmar convene. Described by the MICHELIN Guide as "ageless and unspoiled", the resort sits amidst 160 acres of bamboo forest, rice paddies, countryside and indigenous gardens, as well as being home to Asia's premier elephant camp and sanctuary.
MICHELIN One Key distinction
Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel, the brand's Bangkok flagship hotel, is described by the MICHELIN Guide "as an opulent, colonial-style grand hotel that's quickly become a favourite among upper-crust locals". Traditional Thai architecture and glorious secret gardens portray elegant simplicity, providing a serene exclusivity that feels far removed from the bustling city.
The MICHELIN Guide credited Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort for "creating an atmosphere of tranquil seclusion, while still offering easy access to all the bustle of this most vibrant of island destinations" offering "a comfortable residential feeling rather than a deep-jungle thatched-roof one. Anantara has always specialised in a sophisticated and urbane version of the high-end beach escape, and on that score this one is no different."
A contemporary classic and peaceful resort, Anantara Hua Hin Resort is the iconic debut property of the Anantara brand and is the most elegant of Hua Hin's hotels. Designed in the style of an ancient Thai village and located right beside the beach, this resort has won numerous awards, inspiring dozens more Anantara properties around the globe.
"We are deeply honoured to have four of our iconic hotels and resorts recognised among the first MICHELIN Key hotels in Thailand. As one of Thailand's only homegrown hotel brands, to receive a MICHELIN Two Key distinction for Anantara Golden Triangle, and one MICHELIN One Key distinctions for Anantara Siam, Anantara Lawana, and Anantara Hua Hin is a testament to the commitment to excellence from our dedicated and passionate colleagues, who continue to push boundaries and set new standards in the world of luxury hospitality.
