Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge Awarded an Outstanding Three MICHELIN Keys
Baillie Lodges is delighted to announce its remote luxury outpost Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge on Canada's Vancouver Island has been awarded an outstanding Three MICHELIN Keys in this year's MICHELIN Guide awards.
Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge was one of only two properties in Canada to receive the Three Keys honour in 2024 and one of just ten properties in the United States, Mexico and Canada to be awarded the prestigious status in this, the inaugural MICHELIN Keys selection dedicated to the region.
The MICHELIN Guide's hotel selection debuted in April 2024 and provides users with recommendations for a complete travel experience. The three-key rating signifies extraordinary luxury and world-class hospitality, as determined by anonymous stays from the MICHELIN Guide inspection team. The MICHELIN Keys, like the renowned MICHELIN Stars for dining, recognise hotels offering exceptional stays, and offer a new international benchmark for exceptional travel experiences.
The MICHELIN press release announcing the latest keys award winners, states: A secluded outpost set deep in the wilderness of British Columbia, reachable only by boat or seaplane, Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge offers 25 canvas tents — the first property of this kind to be awarded Three MICHELIN Keys in the world. All… sit on wood platforms connected by a series of cedar plank walkways. If the property offers a gaming tent, a library tent, and four spa tents, the main attraction here is the outdoors, which guests are invited to explore by picking activities such as riding, kayaking, hiking, fishing, archery…
Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge General Manager Sarah Cruse said the MICHELIN Three Keys award was an enormous honour for the off-grid luxury camp set on the banks of Clayoquot Sound's picturesque inlet.
“A huge congratulations goes to the whole team at Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge for this globally revered accolade which together makes the magic happen every day for our guests in Vancouver Island's magnificent wilderness, Ms Cruse said.
“I salute not only the team here today but all the previous employees who have helped us to build our foundation for heart-forward service; it's such an honour to be able to lead Clayoquot, hand in hand with all of you,” she said.
“It's a special breed of luxury here at Clayoquot, where our guests have a rare and privileged connection to the mountains, ocean and forests that are right on the doorstep of our Canadian safari-style tents.
“It's humbling, yet outstanding and incredibly inspiring to see this recognition for a property that belongs in a world class, as Clayoquot is truly one of a kind.”
