Kimpton Kitalay Samui, the idyllic island resort on Koh Samui's Cheong Mon Beach, is the place-to-be for foodies this October, as it prepares to unveil SHIO, a colorful and creative new Japanese pop-up restaurant.
Throughout the month, LANAI Bar & Lounge, the resort's popular seafront hangout, will be transformed into a vibrant sushi bar. SHIO, which means “sea tides” in Japanese, is the brainchild of Wacharun Imarramsak or Chef Run from In the Mood for Love, the popular Bangkok sushi bar and omakase restaurant. This Japanese culinary maestro will present a curated collection of his own handmade delicacies, including artistic dishes and signature sushi rolls that are set to attract experience-seeking diners from far and wide!
Stylish and sophisticated yet also warm and friendly, this pop-up restaurant will blend the rustic-chic ambiance of a Samui beach lounge with the authentic elegance of a Tokyo sushi bar. The gentle sound of the ocean waves will be accompanied by cool Japanese beats.
“We are excited to reveal SHIO, a compelling new culinary destination for our hotel guests and authentic Japanese cuisine lovers in Samui. I am confident that everyone will love Chef Run's creative, eye-catching and experiential cuisine. We look forward to welcoming discerning diners from all across the island to experience this innovative style of gastronomy,” said Paul Loader, General Manager of Kimpton Kitalay Samui.
Don't miss the chance to experience SHIO this October! This pop-up will be open daily for dinner (6:00 PM - 10:00 PM), and for lunch (12:00 PM - 2:30 PM) on Fridays and Saturdays.
