QT Wellington is set to mesmerise guests this spring with its dreamy take on the 2024 World of WearableArt: DREAM AWAKE. From 25 September to 13 October, QT Wellington will have several awakening experiences available to in-house guests, local Wellingtonians and WOW-goers, ready to impress even the most fashionable of sorts.
For those in search of pre-show dining, the iconic Hippopotamus restaurant will open its doors for an evening high tea dinner experience. Renowned for its unique afternoon tea sessions, Executive Chef Antoine Collet has curated an evening take on the more traditional daytime high tea with a three-course dinner served on a trio of porcelain tiers. Evening Dreams Dinner High Tea includes a drink on arrival and three layers of dreamy dinner bites including Rockerfeller oysters, hot smoked Ora King salmon and caviar toast, Beef Wellington and parmesan polenta chips and to tickle the dessert tastebuds, cheesecake and macarons. Evening Dreams Dinner High Tea is $95 per person and bookable Wednesday – Saturday evenings during WOW.
Throughout the WOW show period, QT Wellington will transform the Gallery Lounge into a dreamy space inviting guests to experience an enchanting blend of art and Champagne luxury.
Head in the Clouds – Champagne Tasting will be popping up with the sparkling effervescence of G.H. Mumm Champagne. Step into a dreamscape of blue and pink hues, accented with vibrant touches and plush pink furnishings. Guests can enjoy a special Champagne menu featuring unique cocktails like Fluff It Up, where candyfloss is topped with Mumm bubbles for a strawberry sparkle that perfectly complements any WOW outfit. Or take off and savour a Mumm tasting flight with selections including Mumm Marlborough Brut Prestige, Mumm Marlborough Brut Rosé, G.H. Mumm Grand Cordon and G.H. Mumm Grand Cordon Rosé.
In the Lobby, wearable art connoisseurs can admire intricate details of the colourful Stuff People's Choice award-winning garment Blooming Proof!, by New Zealand design team Erna Van Der Wat, Joanne Van Wyk & Lena Van Der Wat, on display until the end of the season.
General Manager at QT Wellington Colin McClean says, "I'm thrilled to celebrate our partnership with WOW again in 2024. It is a collaboration that perfectly aligns with QT's commitment to art and design. It's an exciting time to be at the hotel as WOW creates a dynamic environment, and we are delighted to be part of it. Wellington is a city where food and art reign; and it's never more evident than when WOW is in town. We invite guests to enjoy their dream scenario - sipping Champagne amongst art in the Gallery Lounge or a high tea experience with a QT twist in the iconic Hippopotamus.”
In the spirit of the city's creative season, QT Wellington has also partnered with Royal New Zealand Ballet to run an enchanted Midsummer High Tea in Hippopotamus during the weekends. Guests can expect to sip on charming concoctions and partake in dainty pastries and sandwiches inspired by Shakespeare's loveable characters. From Puck's playful scones to Oberon's regal finger sandwiches, each bite is a spellbinding adventure for all fairies and creatures alike. Midsummer High Tea is $75 per person and includes an arrival cocktail plus three tiers of sweet and savoury treats.
Visit QT Wellington from 25 September to 13 October 2024 and immerse yourself in a world where art, luxury, and imagination intertwine.
