Destination Canada takes Radical Openness to the Financial Times Weekend Festival in London, UK
On September 7th, in the grounds of Kenwood House , Hampstead, London, the movers and shakers of UK business, culture and media gather for an annual Financial Times (FT) Weekend Festival.
Destination Canada will be at the 2024 festival as the Official Destination Partner, showcasing its radical openness to the FT Audience. Adventurer Dianne Wheelan, who completed a 24,000 KM trek will be on the travel stage talking about her '500 days in the Wild' cross Canadian journey whilst techies will be checking in with Aiden Gomez, AI entrepreneur. Attendees will also get a taste of 6 Canadian wines chosen personally for the event by the internationally renowned FT Wine writer Jancis Robinson via a tutored tasting , and on arrival, visitors will get a sweet taste of Canada courtesy of a Nanaimo bite.
Guests will also be invited to step into a QR code led photo booth for a personalised photo postcard , created specifically for them on site, suggesting a Canada holiday itinerary courtesy of tour operator exhibiting partners Canadian Affair and Audley Travel, who will also be on site to interact with the audience first hand, evaluate Canada interest and secure future bookings. Typically the event attracts between 3000 – 4000 attendees over the day , mostly paying over £100.00 per ticket.
The Financial Times has been a cornerstone of the work of Destination Canada to reach British and global travellers with an ongoing Canada story through content tailored specifically to this audience. Being present at this prestigious event to bring the Canada brand to life in person through engagement and activation , was a natural evolution of the partnership and one they look forward to developing further.
