Opening of Sydney Gateway a gamechanger for Accor's Sydney Olympic Park hotel precinct.

This week's opening of the final stage of the new $2.6 billion motorway connecting Sydney Airport to the WestConnex toll network is set to be a major gamechanger for Accor's Pullman, Novotel and ibis Sydney Olympic Park hotels.

From 1 September, the Sydney Gateway will provide a direct connection between the Airport and Sydney's premier sporting, events and exhibition precinct, with the journey now expected to take less than 20 minutes.

That's great news for corporate clients thinking about hosting events at Accor's Sydney Olympic Park hotel precinct according to Precinct General Manager, Benjamin Nesbitt.

“Sydney Olympic Park has long been established as the geographic heart of metropolitan Sydney, with some of Australia's biggest brands and companies now based in and around this area, as well as several universities and hospitals. While Accor's Sydney Olympic Park hotel precinct is already one of the city's most popular conference and event destinations, a number of corporates and MICE event organisers have traditionally gravitated towards inner city venues given their perceived proximity to the airport, the CBD and other key event infrastructure.

“However, the opening of the Sydney Gateway now places Accor's Sydney Olympic Park hotels just 20 minutes from the airport the increased accessibility and convenience that this brings to our offering will significantly enhance our appeal in the corporate market to anyone looking for a competitive premium alternative.”

He adds, “When you throw in the location of the precinct right in the heart of a thriving entertainment, sports complex, an unparalleled range of conference and event options across our Pullman, Novotel and ibis hotels, as well as our experienced on-site events team on hand to create custom packages including bespoke, cross-complex options, it all amounts to a very compelling proposition that people might not have previously contemplated.”

Nesbitt warmly congratulates all stakeholders on the completion of the Sydney Gateway. “It takes an enormous amount of effort and determination to bring a complex project like this to fruition. It's going to be transformative for residents and visitors alike and we're delighted at the opportunities it will bring to Western Sydney”.
