The Turkish Tourism Board, in partnership with Tripadvisor, held a screening for their first episode of The Wanderer's second season on 9 and 10 August. Held at Potters Fields Park near Tower Bridge, over 5,500 of visitors were transported to a Mediterranean beach for the first exclusive viewing.
The newest episode of The Wanderer showed British TV presenter Alex Outhwaite with American journalist Tabitha Lipkin, captivating audiences as they embarked on a journey through the heart of Türkiye's vibrant culture and delectable cuisine. The episode showcased the stunning city of Antalya, unveiling its iconic landmarks, hidden gems, and a tantalising array of culinary delights. From exploring ancient ruins to immersing in Turkish Music and Dance shows while savouring authentic Turkish flavours, viewers were treated to an unforgettable experience of the Turkish coast.
The Turkish Tourism Board and Tripadvisor also set up a grill and bar, providing viewers with traditional Turkish food including mezes, kofte and baklava.
The event featured an arts station, where visitors could try out Turkish Ebru (Water Marbling). The traditional Turkish art has been included on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list since 2014. The delicate art involves creating intricate patterns on water and transferring them to paper or fabric. The oldest example is said to be from the 1500s.
The Turkish Tourism Board's General Manager İsmail Bütün stated: “We are incredibly happy with the turnout over the weekend. Türkiye is a destination rich with experiences for all kinds of travellers – families, couples and solo travellers alike have fallen in love with Türkiye over the years. This event provided us with an opportunity to showcase Türkiye as audiences have never seen it before. We would like to extend our gratitude to Tripadvisor for partnering with us in the creation of this episode of The Wanderer.”
