Sweden's official guest night statistics for July have now been released, allowing us to summarize and compare the summer months of May-July with previous years. However, the summer season is still ongoing, and businesses in the hospitality industry report strong interest from foreign tourists well into August.

During May-July 2024, the number of foreign guest nights in Sweden increased by 7% compared to the same period in 2023 (7,701,397 vs. 7,225,382). Compared to 2019, the increase is 2%, with 7,561,195 foreign guest nights recorded in May-July 2019.

Guest nights from the United States in Sweden during May-July 2024 also rose by 7% compared to the same period in 2023, making the U.S. the third-largest foreign market by number of guest nights, after Norway and Germany.
