SeaLink Tasmania is proud to announce being the official sponsor of the Bruny Island Ultra Marathon for the next three years.
This partnership highlights SeaLink's commitment to supporting local communities, promoting active lifestyles, all while showcasing the unique natural beauty of Bruny Island in Tasmania.
The SeaLink Bruny Island Ultra Marathon is a one-of-a-kind event that challenges participants to push their limits. With options to tackle the 64km ultra-marathon solo or as part of a relay team, the event being held on Saturday, 30 November 2024 attracts runners from all walks of life and experience levels.
Simon Tamlyn, General Manager of SeaLink Tasmania, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership: “We are thrilled to be part of such an iconic event in one of Tasmania's most brilliant locations. The Bruny Island Ultra Marathon not only highlights the island's natural beauty but also strengthens community ties by encouraging people to stay active and support local Island businesses.
“As destination events go, there is no better physical challenge for those wanting to test their endurance while also getting the chance to run in such a unique natural setting and rewarding yourself after the event by staying a little longer to explore such a stunning location a little more,” Mr Tamlyn said.
“We will be running (pardon the pun) additional ferry services on the day to ensure that all participants and spectators, including our own SeaLink Bruny Island team, can reach the starting line on time. We are excited to support and participate this year,” Mr. Tamlyn continued.
Paul Riseley, Event Race Director for the Bruny Island Ultra Marathon, shared: "SeaLink's support as the naming sponsor for the Bruny Island Ultra Marathon for the next three years is wonderful. Their involvement not only enhances the experience for participants but also underscores the importance of this marathon to the local community and economy."
“This event would not be possible without the generous support of sponsors like SeaLink, and we look forward to working together to share this wonderful event and island with locals, and visitors from near and far,” Mr Riseley said.
The Bruny Island Ultra Marathon is more than just a race; it is a celebration of endurance, camaraderie, and Tasmania's spectacular landscape. With the event starting at the Dennes Point picnic area in the north of the island overlooking mainland Tasmania and will conclude at the iconic lighthouse in Cloudy Bay in the south, participants will traverse some of the island's most iconic and scenic routes, making it a journey to remember.
Event registrations open on 2 September from 6pm, and runners of all ages experience levels are encouraged to sign up and "Find out what you are made of."
