Vanuatu Tourism Office

Air Niugini provides a weekly service on Saturdays from Port Moresby via Honiara, to Port Vila with the return flight departing the next day, Sunday following the same route. The weekly flights will be operated by the airline's Boeing 737 Aircraft which has the capacity of up to 140 passengers.

Air Niugini now joins Virgin Australia, Fiji Airways and Solomon Airlines to support and boost Vanuatu's international seat capacity and provides more options for our consumers to chose from when traveling into and or transiting from Port Vila.

“The flight provides excellent connections between Vanuatu/ Manila, Vanuatu/ Hongkong and Vanuatu/ Cairns, Australia.”Says Mr. Gary Seddon, the acting Chief Executive Officer of Air Niugini.

Air Niugini emphasized that the flights will also allow Papua New Guineans and Ni-Vanuatu to reconnect in various sectors including business, culture, sports, families and for Government level work purposes. “Generally, it promotes understanding, partnership and ideas for the two Melanesian countries,”added Mr. Seddon.

"We are pleased to see Air Niugini back at Port Vila Airport, which provides improved air connectivity not only between Vanuatu and its Melanesian family to the North, but also provides an alternative option to connect with the rest of the world from Vanuatu's primary international airport. We welcome the bird of paradise tail back to our gateway airport."States Mr. Jason Rakau, the CEO of Airports Vanuatu.

The Vanuatu Tourism Office, welcomes the weekly flights as it will open up Vanuatu's international market even further to benefit our tourism industry and economy.

“We are excited to see the return of Air Niugini to Vanuatu. This new service paves the way for increased activity between Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu and we are looking forward to exploring the opportunities that it presents for both our countries. We already have strong interests in growing tourism and travel and with increased connectivity it can only help strengthen travel and business opportunities,” declares Mrs. Adela Issachar Aru from the Vanuatu Tourism Office.

“We look forward to working together to grow these travel opportunities and linkages to open up to the South East Asia market for travel and business.”
