The Dell of Abernethy to Host Its First Wintering Retreat This November

The Dell of Abernethy

JULY 2024 - The Dell of Abernethy, in the heart of the Cairngorms, will host its first Dell curated Wintering Retreat this November (25-29), with four blissful days of cosy immersion, tuning into the wisdom of how to 'winter' well, through food, movement, nature and connection.

This unique retreat, co-hosted by Yoga practitioner Katie White, includes four nights accommodation (twin share or double room) and all meals; from deeply nourishing soul food prepared together, to group cookery classes focused on nutritional meal planning for the winter months. The long, lazy days will start with slow morning practice by candle light and end with fireside Nidra in the evening, before heading off for a peaceful slumber in cosy Dell Lodge. There'll be a daily walk in the majestic Abernethy forest, once as the popular Soundscape Meditation, an incredibly moving experience that takes guests on a meditative musical journey into the deeper, more hidden trails surrounding the Dell, along with creative craft sessions and optional extras like Reiki, Craniosacral Therapy or Ayurvedic massage, with plenty of time to take in the spectacular surroundings of the Scottish Highlands, soak in the tub or curl up with a good book.

This special retreat is for anyone wishing to start the year in a more connected and considered way. Rather than juicing, fasting or detoxing, The Dell's Wintering Retreat offers something more meaningful and sustainable, promising to leave guests more aligned, rested and fully re-charged for the year ahead.

The Dell's Wintering Retreat costs £795 per person and can be booked via the website.

Notes to Editors

Nestled within the wilds of the Cairngorms National Park and right on the edge of the ancient Abernethy Forest, The Dell, which is one hour from Inverness airport and twenty minutes from Aviemore train station is a haven for wildlife and perfectly placed to experience the unique habitat of the area year-round. There's six self-catering cottages set in four acres of gardens and pine forests dotted with organic vegetable gardens, chickens, a zipline, swings, a trampoline and petanque for the kids to encourage a wild, free and unplugged holiday, whilst the on-site Dell Grocer is stocked with homemade meals to stick in the oven, hot coffee, fresh bread and plenty of tasty treats to enjoy throughout the stay.
