Now in its fourth year, the annual event has become a popular, staple attraction in the steam calendar, and has fast become one of the biggest events in Norfolk.

Thursford is home to the famous Steam Museum and houses the world's largest collection of steam engines and organs, inviting thousands of tourists every year. Having opened its doors for the summer at the beginning of April, Gala Day is an exciting addition that celebrates original founder, G.T. Cushing with exhibitor's showcasing mechanical organs, vintage vehicles, and steam engines.

The line-up for this year includes a new aerobatic display from The Flying Comrades who will be taking to the skies with a special performance. The trio of display pilots fly a variety of Yakovlev aircrafts.

There'll be street food vendors to enjoy including East Coast Pizza Company and The Bucket List and Thursford will be offering a selection of catering options in the Barn Café, along with a BBQ. Live music will be performed in the Thursford gardens from Sue's Acoustic.

Showman's engine, Victory will also be in steam following a full restoration last year. It's a unique opportunity to see the original Burrells of Thetford engine come to life.

Leading organist, Robert Wolfe will be performing on the mighty Wurlitzer with two special shows. Robert has been performing at Thursford for over 40 years. The steam museum is open as normal and included in the entry price.

A parade of all the working steam engines, both big and small, will take place in the Thursford car park.

John Cushing OBE, CEO of Thursford said: “Gala Day is returning bigger than ever following a record year for visitor numbers. This year we've added more exhibitors, new food vendors, and leading performances from the ground and in the skies. We look forward to welcoming visitors to this popular Steam Gala Day in the heart of North Norfolk.
