Sydney, 11 Jun 2024 – Malaysia Airlines will increase the frequency of flights on the Kuala Lumpur to Amritsar route from four (4) flights a week to daily starting Thursday 1 August 2024.
Launched in November 2023, Amritsar is one of three new India routes introduced in 2023 alongsideAhmedabad and Trivandrum. The increase in flight frequencies to Amritsar will bring Malaysia Airlines' total weekly flights in India to 71, where it currently operates to nine (9) key hubs including New Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, and Trivandrum.

Malaysia Airlines boasts an extensive network to South Asia, offering flights 71 weekly flights to nine major cities in India, 14 weekly flights to Bangladesh, 10 weekly flights to Nepal and 7 weekly flights to Sri Lanka. The expansion to South Asia will provide Aussie and Kiwi travellers added convenience and flexibility for both business and leisure travel.
Starting from July 2024, the airline will also be increasing flight frequency from Sydney and Adelaide to Kuala Lumpur. These additional flights will operate between 5 July to 22 July 2024 and 27 September to 14 October 2024, adding over 7,500 seats over the peak school holiday period. The flights are now open for booking in the Global Distribution System (GDS).
Malaysia Airlines currently operates 53 weekly flights between Australia & New Zealand and Malaysia.
Serving as the gateway to Asia, the airline offers seamless connectivity to over 50 destinations in Malaysia, ASEAN, North Asia, South Asia, and United Kingdom.
