Kyoto City and the Kyoto City Tourism Association have collaborated to release a captivating new promotional video series, "Where Every Corner Sparks Discovery," aimed at showcasing the diverse and enchanting charms of Kyoto to international audiences. In response to the growing interest in Kyoto's evolving tourism landscape, the promotional videos offer a fresh perspective on the ancient capital, going beyond traditional attractions to highlight the city's vibrant culture, sustainable tourism initiatives, and hidden gems.
The main video, spanning six minutes, follows the unique journey of two travellers, Mac and Karen, as they explore the wonders of Kyoto. Set against the backdrop of Kyoto's historic streets and breathtaking landmarks, the narrative unfolds as Mac, a seasoned resident of Japan, introduces Karen, his best friend's daughter, to the beauty and allure of Kyoto.
Their adventure begins at Kyoto Station, where Mac checks his luggage, only for Karen to lose her way to their meeting point at the Kyoto Tourist Information Centre. Undeterred, Karen embarks on her own spontaneous journey, guided by instinct and chance encounters, while Mac follows the planned itinerary, visiting iconic sites like Fushimi Inari Shrine.
As the day unfolds, the paths of Mac and Karen intermittently cross, each experiencing Kyoto's treasures from their unique perspectives. From the serene morning light at a tranquil temple to the bustling energy of a local bar, the video captures the essence of Kyoto's timeless charm and vibrant spirit.
Accompanying the main video are a series of short-form videos, each lasting 30 seconds, offering brief glimpses into the captivating experiences awaiting visitors in Kyoto. Whether savouring a traditional Kyoto kaiseki meal or strolling through the enchanting atmosphere of Higashiyama at night, these videos serve as enticing invitations to explore the wonders of Kyoto.
All videos in the series are available for download via the Kyoto City Tourism application, providing convenient access for users to share the magic of Kyoto across various platforms, including social media, websites, and international business meetings. Application LINK
