LATAM Airlines is the top-performing airline in terms of sustainability in all of Latin America and ranked seventh in the world, according to the most recent Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) by Standard & Poor's (S&P Global).
Along with this achievement, it was the only airline group from the region featured in the 2024 Sustainability Yearbook, the annual event at which the prestigious credit rating agency highlights those companies that have shown outstanding growth in the evaluation of their sustainability management, as a result of their environmental, social, and corporate governance practices.
"Today, sustainability is the roadmap for the entire group and a requirement for each of our steps, with the awareness that it is our responsibility to play an active role in the communities where we operate. Being recognised as the most sustainable airline in the region is the result of our dedication to working towards carbon neutral and a circular economic model, contributing to reducing climate change and adding value to the communities we connect," highlighted Chris Ellis, Country Manager Oceania, LATAM Airlines.
To qualify for the yearbook, companies must score within the top 15% of their industry and achieve a global sustainability score from S&P within the top 30% of the best-performing companies in their area. In the 2024 edition, out of a total of 9,400 evaluated companies, 61 were airlines, of which, according to the assessment, only seven entered the yearbook.
Ranked above LATAM Airlines include:
- Japan Airlines
- China Airlines
- ANA
- EVA Airways
- American Airlines
- Air France-KLM
