(Los Angeles, CA) February 7, 2024 – With 333 islands, Fiji's pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, thriving coral reefs and lush rainforests make up the perfect natural landscape for adventure to thrive. As 50 of GoPro's top Creators (including pro athletes and ambassador content creators) quickly found out during their week-long trip to the islands, Fiji is chock full of adrenaline-pumping experiences, both above and below water, and even on land.
While there are so many destinations for adventurers to choose from, it's hard to beat Fiji's wide range of adventure on offer, idyllic natural landscape as your canvas, and most importantly, the famously friendly and happy Fijian people as your hosts. From Fiji's world-renowned sports like surfing and diving, to lesser-known activities like jet boating up a river to a local village, helicoptering through waterfalls and jumping out of planes, here is your perfect Fiji itinerary for a 2024 adventure of a lifetime.
Day 1
From the moment you board your Fiji Airways flight, you will be met with the friendliest faces and warmest hospitality you've ever experienced. But it won't stop there. Once you step off the plane in Nadi, you'll be greeted with endless “Bula!”s and quickly learn what we mean by Fiji's “Bula Spirit.”
Once you deplane and breeze through customs, be sure to stop by the Rosie Holidays office for all your Fiji travel needs. They are a one-stop shop for tours, transportation, activities and more, so that you don't have to lift a finger during your Fiji vacation.
Make your way down the coast to the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, which sits on the picturesque Natadola Beach. Time to check in, drop your bags and get the adventure started! Jet lag can't catch up to you if you head straight down to the on-site HydroSports bure and take your choice of jetskiing, parasailing, flyboarding or waterskiing.
End the day with a sunset drink at Kama Lounge, followed by a casual dinner at one of the resort's 3 on-property restaurants.
Day 2
Up at em with Fiji Surf Co. to take you to the world-renowned Cloudbreak for an incredible surfing experience. For the ultimate all-day adventure, book the Thundercloud boat where you can anchor near the surf breaks for the day and enjoy a BBQ lunch on board in between surf and snorkel sessions.
Not a surf pro? Sega la Lega (no worries). Fiji Surf Co. can give you a beginners' lesson right on Natadola Beach in front of the hotel.
Trying to pack in as much adventure as possible into one day? After you return from surfing, head out with Skydive Fiji for a sunset skydive with jaw-dropping views of the islands from above. Get whisked away directly from the resort's heli-pad with Heli Tours Fiji to take you on a scenic flight to Malolo Lailai where you will board your skydive plane and jump out into the sunset.
Day 3
Up with the sun on day 3 to head out for your underwater adventure with PADI, as they take you scuba diving with turtles, sharks, fish and some of the healthiest and most vibrant coral you've ever seen. For those who have more time, consider undertaking a certification course with PADI. There is no better place to learn to dive than in Fiji!
After fueling up with lunch back at the resort, it's time to head out again. You'll spend the afternoon aboard Sigatoka River Safari, a can't-miss Fiji activity. You'll start the adventure with a thrilling jet boat experience up the Sigatoka River until you arrive at a local village. Your village hosts will welcome you into their home with open arms as they prepare you a traditional Fijian meal, followed by singing and dancing.
Day 4
Want to train like the two-time Olympic gold medal winning Fiji Rugby Team? Then Day 4 brings an especially heart-pumping, yet rewarding morning activity. Wake up before dawn and head to the Sigatoka Sand Dunes (one of Fiji's two National Parks) and get ready to sweat. There are several vertical sand dunes to run up and down for a challenging workout. And if you're lucky, you'll catch Fiji's National 7's Rugby Team there as they train for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
After a shower and some breakfast, it's time to head to your very own private island, Malamala Beach Club! Also known as paradise on earth, Malamala is a day-trip island where you can spend the day snorkeling, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming, lounging and indulging. For the adventurers that can't sit still, Kai Wai Sports offers island activities including foiling, parasailing, jetskiing and surf trips to the nearby breaks.
After an unforgettable sunset, head back to the resort to enjoy your final night on Natadola Beach.
Day 5
While your time at Intercontinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa has come to an end, your Fiji vacation doesn't have to. Choose one of the following adventure add-ons and keep your Bula Spirit going for another few days.
Surfing in the Mamanucas
With seven surf breaks to choose from, including world-class Cloudbreak, Tavarua in the Mamanuca Islands is a surfer's dream Fijian escape. Shaped like a heart, Tavarua is laced with white-sand beaches and pristine underwater seascapes that makes the island perfectly situated for surf adventures. Local boats will take you to the waves when the swell is right, whether its Restaurants, Swimming Pools or Cloudbreak, and when you need downtime, the resort offers a range of aquatic experiences under and over the water, with the opportunity to view the Giant Clam restoration project and give back to the ocean.
Diving with PADI on Taveuni
Get scuba certified in one of the absolute best dive locations in the world. Known as Fiji's 'Garden Island,' Taveuni is covered in lush, green rainforest and surrounded by flawlessly healthy coral reefs. Stay at the Garden Island Resort, which has its own PADI Dive Center to make your certification process seamless. You'll be learning dive at some world-famous dive sites like Rainbow Reef and the Great White Wall. Already have your PADI Open Water Certification? Consider getting your Advanced Certification or even a Freediving Certification.
Freediving in the Yasawas
If you're after serene coral reefs for snorkeling or free diving, pictureseque landscapes and some of the friendliest locals in Fiji, look know further than the Yasawa Islands. Stay at Barefoot Manta Island Resort for a laidback, feel-good diving experience while learning from their onsite Marine Biologists about their coral restoration program, or go further up the isles by boat to reach Oarsman's Bay Lodge in its white sandy beach and bright blue ocean paradise. Travel to the Sawa-i-lau (blue lagoon) caves for a Hollywood experience, or take the time to join the locals in their Sunday morning worship.
Land Adventures in Pacific Harbour
Pacific Harbour is often referred to as the adventure capital of Fiji, with its dramatic river gorges, and rolling landscapes that lend itself to adrenaline-pumping activities. Fly over treetops with ZipFiji, white water raft down the Navua River with Rivers Fiji, get dirty off-road with TerraTreks or river tube through picturesque valleys ... there's so much that will get your heart rate up in the region. Make sure to save time for relaxation at the luxurious Nanuku Resort which provides spacious beachside accomodations and unforgetable sunsets.
