In the heart of Tokyo, Azabudai is a cosmopolitan area home to many embassies, cultural institutions businesses and residences. Since 1989 the redevelopment of this area has been painstakingly planned with the residents and the future in mind. The much-anticipated neighbourhood is a feat of modern architecture, design and sensitive community town planning. The grand opening took place on 24 November 2023 and more facilities are scheduled to open over the coming months. Lush with greenery Azabudai Hills is a great place to visit for shopping, dining, and relaxing in the heart of Tokyo. It is also brimming with exciting opportunities to enjoy art and culture. In February 2024, one of Tokyo's most popular attractions, digital art museum teamLab Borderless will reopen here.
Designed around the theme “green & wellness,” Azabudai Hills includes a variety of new commercial facilities, a hotel, residential areas, office space, and school facilities. Visitors encounter art and greenery in all the public spaces. With 24,000 square meters of green space visitors can enjoy the changing seasons, including a variety of cherry blossoms. There is also an orchard with 11 kinds of fruit trees, including blueberries, lemons, peaches and other edible plants. There are three skyscrapers, including the Mori JP Tower 330 meters tall, surrounded by tree-lined streets and green space.
The new complex has the opportunity to showcase best practice environmental initiatives for decarbonization. 100% of the electricity Azabudai Hills uses comes from renewable sources. AI technology is used to manage the complex's mixed-use energy consumption.
