Hornby Hobbies, Britain's leading model maker, has announced the opening of an exciting new experience, The WonderWorks, located in Margate, Kent. Formerly the Hornby Visitor Centre, the interactive attraction will immerse visitors into the world of Hornby Hobbies' famous hobby, toy, collectable and specialist brands through a range of educational and sensory experiences, all designed to evoke visitors' imaginations as soon as they walk through the door.
The reimagined experience features new miniature worlds and incredible exhibition pieces, along with a redesigned café with updated menu featuring local produce. In addition to interacting with the impressive exhibitions, visitors will have the opportunity to discover the history of the company and to learn how Hornby, Airfix, CORGI, Scalextric and Pocher make their models and kits. Daily workshops and special events will help new and existing Hornby Hobbies fans to get the most out of their hobby.
“After nearly a year of planning and hard work, we are very excited to unveil The WonderWorks, and to bring a new energy to the way we showcase our iconic brands,” said Olly Raeburn, CEO, Hornby Hobbies. “The WonderWorks will offer visitors an entirely new, interactive experience, which is both the ultimate haven for enthusiasts and the ideal introduction for those new to the world of miniature.”
Set in part of the former factory that has been home to the famous brands for almost 70 years, the previous Hornby Visitor Centre attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world and has been featured on TV series 'Hornby: A Model World'.
Tickets for The WonderWorks experience cost just £5 per adult, with concessions available for families, children and groups.
