The Pantry by Mavis, Uki

Welcomed as a 'little sister' to the enduring and iconic Mavis's Kitchen and Cabins, the Pantry by Mavis has joined the evolving main street of Uki, right next door to the coffee haven that is Bastion Lane Espresso. Part cafe, part deli and pantry store, the new space shares fresh produce from the kitchen garden of big sister Mavis's Kitchen, along with gourmet bites for lunch and take-home goods for later, all grown or made by the team, including hot sauces and chutneys, fresh herbs and crunchy greens. Be sure to visit Mavis's Kitchen Garden too so you can see where your patch-to-plate food came from!

OId Quarter Coffee Merchants, Murwillumbah

New to the bustling art deco town of Murwillumbah, Old Quarter Coffee Merchants are part of a recent wave of elevated food, drink and fresh food offerings in this central hinterland hub. Far from being just a coffee shop, Old Quarter describes itself as part social enterprise, part coffee roaster - proudly Australia's only specialty coffee company sourcing 100% Southeast Asian green beans from ethnic minority farmers from Myanmar to Sumatra (and beyond). Started from a desire to connect communities through coffee and a concept of Fair Value Exchange, Old Quarter's mantra is to be the coffee-lover's go-to for 'Daily Happy'.

Experiences

Monet at Tweed Regional Gallery, South Murwillumbah

The Tweed Regional Gallery and Margaret Olley Art Centre is already recognised as one of Australia's leading regional galleries - so the addition of an iconic Monet painting is set to make it the 'talk of the town' - on a national scale. From 1 November the Tweed Regional Gallery will be home to the remarkable Haystacks, midday 1890, painted by Impressionist Claude Monet and on loan from the National Gallery of Australia as part of its Sharing the National Collection initiative. Don't miss this absolute masterpiece - but, no need to panic, Monet's Haystacks, midday will be dazzling gallery-goers in the Tweed until 26 October 2025.
