The Grand Brighton – the iconic, luxury hotel on Brighton's seafront – has unveiled its festive experiences for Christmas 2023. With traditional decorations, roaring fires and innovative festive food offerings as well as a nod to British heritage, the ambience is set.
A Taste Of The Season
Inspired by the upcoming December cinema release of Wonka, The Grand presents its Festive Afternoon Tea experience which offers an indulgent menu featuring chocolate infused creations and sweet treats alongside festive savoury favourites. Afternoon tea is served in the stunning sea-facing terrace and guests will be treated to homemade chocolate marshmallows with popping candy, a chocolate, praline and orange choux, and festive mini sherry trifle. The menu also features a specialty mini “Grand” marbled chocolate bar, providing guests the chance to discover a golden ticket and win a bottle of Champagne. The Festive Afternoon Tea is priced at £38 per person, and reservations are now open with early booking advised.
At Cyan restaurant, the timeless British roast comes with a selection of five options and all the trimmings including roast potatoes, carrots, parsnips, swede, French beans and spring cabbage, and cauliflower cheese.
Festive Party Nights
Prepare for a grand celebration at the hotel's shared Christmas party nights ideal for friends, family as well as colleagues. Hosted in the illustrious Empress Suite, these evenings include a lavish three-course meal, coffee and wine, all for just £75 per person (with a minimum group size of eight people). The party night dates are: 8, 9, 15 and 16 December. Reservations are now open and can be made by calling 01273 224300.
New Year's Eve Getaway Package
As the year draws to a close, The Grand welcomes guests to bid adieu to 2023 in style with a celebratory New Year's Eve party package. Guests can check-in and soak up the festive atmosphere at the hotel, heading to the Empress Suite later in the evening for a glass of Champagne, followed by a five-course tasting menu. The night continues with dancing and live music from the UK's leading event band RadioAction. The next morning guests can revel in a grand breakfast, before heading home. The New Year's Eve Getaway Package is tailored for adults aged 18 and over and starts from £600 for two staying in a classic double or twin room.
Christmas Shopping & Events in Brighton
Brighton is a shopper's paradise during the festive season; from the contemporary shops nestled in the Lanes and the bohemian North Laine to the expansive Churchill Square Shopping Centre and Brighton Marina's outlets, there's something for every shopper. Additionally, the Brighton Christmas Market and the Artists Open Houses events offer unique gifting opportunities.
Adding to the festive spirit, Brighton hosts a series of events. The Royal Pavilion Ice Rink, set against the exotic palace backdrop, opens in November. The city also celebrates the winter solstice on 21 December with 'Burning the Clocks', a paper lantern parade culminating in a beach bonfire. And for those seeking a touch of magic, Wakehurst's gardens come alive in November and December with the 'Glow Wild' lantern trail.
Room Rates
Advance hotel room rates start from £139 for a double room in December. All information regarding the experiences listed and festive offers can be found here.

- About The Grand Brighton
Set along the iconic Brighton seafront, The Grand Brighton was officially opened on 21 July 1864 to great fanfare and celebrated as the original 'Palace By The Sea'. The now famous building was revered as a feat of Victorian architectural brilliance, masterfully designed by the celebrated architect John Whichcord Jr. Brighton's newest hotel boasted an impressive facade, ornate interiors, famously outstanding service, the very first lift outside of London - then referred to as 'vertical omnibuses'. Today, the 159-year-old walls hold 201 beautifully designed rooms stretching over seven floors and set around the original dramatic sweeping staircase, Cyan Brighton restaurant, the Victoria Bar & Lounge and the Victoria Terrace (which serves traditional afternoon tea by day and offers The Grill menu from the evening) as well as meeting and banqueting space. Guests staying at the hotel will find themselves in proximity to Brighton's famous attractions, including the Grade I listed Royal Pavilion and Garden, the iconic West Pier, and the lively Brighton Palace Pier.
