Tourism Malaysia Promotes Perlis - the Undeniable Charm in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, August 3rd, 2023 - Continuing its efforts to promote Malaysia as a top tourism destination, Tourism Malaysia organizes a networking event with a group of tourism industry players at downtown Los Angeles, grace by His Royal Highness The Regent of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Ibni Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail and Her Royal Highness The Raja Puan Muda of Perlis Tuanku Dr. Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil. Their Royal Highnesses are accompanied by His Highness Syed Sirajuddin Areeb Putra Jamalullail to the event.

The event, Perlis - The Undeniable Charm brings together 28 representatives of tour operators, airlines, and media, for a presentation on tourism products, places of interest, food, and connectivity into Perlis. Among the highlights of the presentation are Visit Perlis Year 2024-2025, eco-tourism destinations and tourism products of Perlis such as lush greenery of Wang Kelian, recreation at Timah Tasoh Lake, caving at Gua Kelam, rock- climbing activities at Bukit Keteri and Clubrock, the first rock-climbing base camp in the state to be opened in 1st quarter 2024. Perlis is an attractive destination for eco- adventure, nature, and laid back - experience seekers, and relevantly more accessible with great connectivity from Langkawi and Penang.

On top of that, the representatives are briefed on Malaysia's captivating honeymoon destinations and Eastern & Oriental Express' luxury train rides that open for booking with its new journeys including a trilling wildlife excursion at Taman Negara in support to safeguard the endangered Malayan Tiger.

As part of Malaysian hospitality experiences, the representatives are served with Perlis styled Kurma Daging and Nasi Minyak, Laksa Perlis and other delectable traditional food of Malaysia, revealed and passionately promoted by Their Royal Highnesses.

Also, presence to the event, Madam Anil Fahriza Adenan, Consul General of Malaysia in Los Angeles and Mr Akbal Setia, the Vice President of Tourism Malaysia for Americas that presents as the host.

"We are thrilled to showcase the state's unique tourism attractions as a significant step in positioning Perlis as a must stop destination for American travelers to Malaysia, especially the ones visiting Penang and Langkawi. Perlis is undeniably charming with her own characters and not a destination to forgo on visits to the northern part of Malaysia. Tourism Malaysia welcomed more than 7 million international tourist arrivals in 2022 and is targeting 16.1 million international tourist arrivals with RM49.2 billion in tourism receipts for 2023.
