Go camping with all the charm of the great outdoors but without the hassle of assembling a tent and worrying about the wind. Introducing Camp Tapnell, the new 'no fuss glamping' concept at Tapnell Farm on the Isle of Wight – in upcycled, wooden clad, second-hand shipping containers.
And because the nine repurposed containers have just been launched, there's plenty of availability for the rest of the summer holidays up until 3 September 2023, with one night stays at £100 and two or more nights at £75 a night (sleeps 5).
Each container comprises a double cabin style bed, bunk bed and additional top bunk, with comfortable mattresses and flat sheets provided. Outside, enjoy the views across the countryside and al fresco dining at the container's own picnic bench. There's no power in the units, so it's a chance to really unplug from digital devices. Three of the containers are dog-friendly too.
A short stroll away, there's a modern washroom block, complete with flushing toilets and hot showers. There is also a communal kitchen consisting of shared oven, toasters, kettles, fridge space, and washing up area.
Based at Tapnell Farm, there's plenty to do on site, whatever the weather - visit the Farm Park, Aqua Park, Football Golf, Archery & Axe Throwing attractions - and The Cow restaurant, all just a stones' throw away,
How to get there
The most convenient route is via Wightlink's Lymington to Yarmouth ferry service. This scenic journey takes just 40 minutes to cross the Solent, and once in Yarmouth, it's a quick 12-minute drive or 14-minute bus trip to the accommodation. Tapnell Farm also offer discounts on Wightlink's travel when booking stays: wightlink.co.uk
