About Casper Ruud

Born in Oslo, Norway, 24-year-old Casper Ruud quickly made a name for himself on the international junior tennis circuit in hisearly years by reaching the ITF world #1 spot as a Junior in 2016. He quickly transitioned onto the ATP tour and made headlines in2017 by reaching the semi-finals in Rio de Janeiro as a wild card. This breakthrough performance catapulted him near the top-100rankings, and in February 2020, Casper made history by becoming the first ever player from Norway to win an ATP title (BuenosAires).

Casper continued to show his potential, winning a total of 5 ATP titles in 2021 (including 3 consecutive) and firmly settling in theworld's top-10 rankings. Casper did not slow down in 2022, winning two more ATP titles and setting yet another milestone in hisyoung career by reaching his first ever Grand Slam Final at Roland Garros in Paris, only falling to 14-time Champion Rafael Nadalin the end. Proving that he can compete on all surfaces, Casper then made a run to the US Open Finals in New York, leaving NewYork with a career-high ranking of world #2.

Finishing the year in style, Casper reached the Finals of the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, Italy in November, adding yet anothermilestone in what has been the most successful year in his career. In December, Casper was awarded the Stefan EdbergSportsmanship Award for the 2022 season, a recognition for his fair play, professionalism, and integrity on and off the court. Casperis the son of Christian (a former professional tennis player himself) and Lele Ruud, and has two younger sisters, Caroline andCharlotte. In his spare time, Casper is an avid golfer (single digit handicap) and enjoys spending time with his friends, driving hisfavorite cars, and giving back through charity and community initiatives as a global ambassador for charity organizations W-Initiative and Right To Play.
