For the fourth year in a row, LATAM Airlines was voted by the passengers as the Best Airline in South America in the Skytrax World Airline Awards. Announced at the Paris Air Show 2023, LATAM was also awarded the Best Airline Staff in South America for the second year running.
Skytrax awards are considered the "Oscars of aviation" and attract great interest from the industry. In this year's event, more than 20 million passengers of over 100 nationalities voted in the survey conducted between September 2022 and May 2023.
"We are very grateful to be recognised by our customers. We continually focus on improving our products and services, and we are very proud to offer the best air travel experience in South America. I want to dedicate this accolade to our extraordinary people. It is their tireless efforts, their unwavering dedication, and relentless pursuit of excellence have made this happen," said Paulo Miranda, Chief Customer Officer, LATAM Airlines Group.
Edward Plaisted, Skytrax CEO, added: "We are delighted to see LATAM return to the 2023 World Airline Awards, and their repeat success as both the Best Airline in South America and Best Airline Staff Service in South America is a fabulous achievement for the LATAM community across the network."
This prestigious award is off the back of LATAM Airlines being awarded the Top Sustainable Airline for Inflight Services by the Onboard Hospitality Awards 2023. The airline's achievement in the sustainability category highlights its successful implementation of three innovative circular economy projects within its onboard service, including eliminating single-use plastics by the end of this year and achieving a zero-waste-to-landfill status by 2027.
The Onboard Hospitality Awards, organised by the esteemed UK magazine Onboard Hospitality, reaffirm LATAM Airlines' position as a leader in sustainable aviation practices.
