London, June 2023: The Massey Partnership is delighted to introduce Blackwood – a unique woodland retreat moments from the beach on the North Norfolk coast.
Blackwood is a three bedroom contemporary property set within its own private grounds, and nestled amongst the National Trust woodland and heath that sweeps up above the coast at West Runton.
Taking its name from the heavily charred Accoya in which it is wrapped, Blackwood is located in woodland which once formed part of the neighbouring estate of Felbrigg Hall and is surrounded by mature oak, beech, birch and sweet chestnut amongst other species.
The self-catering property, which comfortably sleeps six, has been designed to encourage guests to unwind in a peaceful setting. Set in its own half acre of woodland, it provides the perfect opportunity to reconnect with nature.
Taking inspiration from the interiors scene found in desert homes across the American Southwest, the beautifully curated interiors are of the highest standard. The spacious accommodation is spread across two floors, with a well-equipped kitchen kitted out with Sebastian Cox for DeVOL cabinetry, which flows in to an open plan lounge/dining area filled with bespoke furniture handmade for Blackwood.
Artwork, ceramics and carved wood pieces commissioned specially to compliment the interiors, adorn the walls and fill the shelves. The centrepiece of the living room is a large wood burning stove ideal for warmth on colder days.
The outdoor decking area is easily accessible via the large sliding doors in the living room, and is well-furnished for dining and lounging when weather permits. Away from the decking is a firepit and barbecue area for wild cooking. For guests who would like meals to be taken care of, Blackwood can arrange private chefs, catering and picnic hamper deliveries.
A superking bedroom on the ground floor has woodland views through the double doors which also lead out to the grounds. This bedroom has a bathroom complete with a freestanding tub, perfect for soaking in after a day exploring the coast.
A further two bedrooms, one superking and one twin room (which can be converted to a superking on request), can be found upstairs on the first floor. Both bedrooms offer woodland views, and have beautiful en-suite shower rooms with luxurious touches throughout.
North Norfolk has 45 miles of unspoilt coastline, and Blackwood is the ideal base from which to explore it. It is a unique area of remarkable diversity and scientific importance, and is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). With pinewood backed white sandy beaches and dunes at Wells and Holkham, creeks and saltmarshes at Morston, Cley, and Blakeney, a pebble beach at Weybourne, and sandstone cliffs at West Runton, Blackwood's closest beach, amongst the highlights.
“My family and I adore the North Norfolk coast, and it was important to me that Blackwood is a stylish, calming property from which to explore the area - a space to relax and take in its unique setting, designed to recharge batteries, catch up with friends and take time out in beautiful surroundings,” said Blackwood owner, Sarah Morton.
