JW Marriott Auckland Reveals First Look At The Room Transformation

AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND – 07 June 2023: JW Marriott Auckland has today unveiled its new design concepts for the guest rooms, as part of the first stage of its NZ$25M refurbishment project which has commenced for 18 months across two phases. 

Designed by renowned global interior design studio O37, the rooms feature a modern and sophisticated aesthetic that effortlessly blends the existing hotel's features with JW Marriott's principles of mindfulness and holistic well-being. Once the first phase of renovation is completed, the second stage will include transforming the meeting rooms and event spaces, combined with an all day dining restaurant and two contemporary bars.

Offering 286 rooms and suites, the JW Marriott Auckland marks the iconic brand's first property in New Zealand, located at the centre of Auckland CBD. The design concept, inspired by the merging of old and new, revolves around the idea of "beautiful collisions," where the weaving of opposite elements results in a harmonious and tranquil living space. Each room's balance of raw and refined, rough and smooth textures — inspired by New Zealand nature — coexist in perfect symmetry, offering luxury travellers a visually stunning and revitalising stay.

Currently, JW Marriott Hotel Auckland features 286 rooms offering brand new JW signature beds and smart TVs with Chromecast, 40 of which will be renovated to the new design by September and with reservations opening thereafter. The rest of the rooms and suites will be fully renovated by mid 2024, alongside a full renovation of the all day dining restaurant, meeting rooms and lobby area, which has already undergone an initial renovation. 

The hotel offers a truly immersive and elevated experience, encouraging guests to rejuvenate and focus on their well-being at the property with its full suite of amenities, while enjoying the best that Auckland has to offer. The top floor large fitness centre, spa, sauna and indoor heated swimming pool offer the finest views of the CBD and Auckland Harbour Bridge, providing the perfect place to unwind and relax with friends and family.
