Home to two-Michelin-starred restaurant Enoteca Paco Pérez, Hotel Arts Barcelona makes it easier for travellers to bring a slice of Mediterranean lifestyle home with the launch of The Pantry, a new gourmet boutique stocked with more than 80 wine labels sourced from all over the fertile region, a handpicked selection of deli products, including olive oil caviar, organic jams, canned fish, cheese, and other delicacies.
Conceived as a gastronomic and social experience for holidaymakers with a taste for the mysterious, The Pantry is twinned with another gourmet concept, The Secret Pantry. Hiding in plain sight behind the heaving shelves of The Pantry, the buzzy speakeasy with its soft lighting and mellow music comes alive after dark when locals and visitors come together to mix and socialize over a compact menu that spotlights the flavours of the region through sharing-style dishes and regional wines.
Guests can start with locally farmed tomatoes with fresh Mató cheese from Catalonia, Cantabrian anchovies and basil-infused oil, then segue to the Mediterranean sea bass and tiger prawns with char-grilled endives and Valencian orange-scented beurre blanc, before ending the night with poached Lleida pear with vanilla ice cream and hot chocolate sauce. For the full Pantry experience, they can also sample any fine products from the deli section, including regional wines from The Pantry's collection available by the bottle alongside The Secret Pantry's wine by-the-glass selection.
“With The Pantry, we aimed to showcase the essence of local gastronomy and celebrate the hard work of local farmers, fishermen and other trusted partners of Hotel Arts Barcelona,” said Andreas Oberoi, General Manager at Hotel Arts Barcelona. “A labour of love, this is more than a restaurant. By focusing on real, straightforward food without any gimmicks and making The Pantry a social concept where dishes are meant to be shared, we wanted to create an opportunity for Barcelona's culture to shine undiluted.”
For a special price of 350€ ++ per night based on double occupancy, guests can book the new “Stay & Dine” package at Hotel Arts Barcelona which includes luxury accommodation, breakfast for two people, and a tasting set menu at The Secret Pantry.
The Pantry is open Monday and Tuesday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm and Wednesday to Sunday from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm. The Secret Pantry is open Tuesday through Sunday from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm.
