Newmarket Holidays has launched a new guided tour of the Scottish Highlands that takes in Royal favourites, the cultural capital, historic towns and the region's most jaw-dropping scenery.
Royal Caledonian is a seven-night adventure that starts with an overnight journey from London on the Caledonian Sleeper, where guests can enjoy the luxury of a night-time trip as they glide towards their destination in Scotland's Highlands.
Each day of the escorted tour is packed with a wide variety of activities and attractions, including guided visits to the seaside town of Nairn, the beautiful Victorian village of Ballater and the Highlands' cultural capital, Inverness.
Guests explore an array of attractions that include Balmoral, which has been the Scottish holiday home of kings and queens since 1852, and Crathie Kirk Church, a regular place of worship for the Royal family.
The tour explores the Highlands' jaw-dropping scenery with excursions to the Cairngorms Mountain Visitor Centre, Loch Ness, and on the Strathspey Railway, which takes travellers back to the golden days of steam with a route that passes great sweeps of the Spey River, moorland and ancient forest.
There are also visits to cultural attractions including a whisky distillery and the UK's only working cooperage, where casks and barrels are made, repaired and shipped around the world. The adventure ends in Edinburgh, with a guided tour of Scotland's incredible capital.
Niel Alobaidi, CEO of Newmarket Holidays says: “With the King's coronation approaching, we are seeing lots of interest in tours that have links to the Royals. The Scottish Highlands has been a favourite destination of the family for nearly 200 years and the chance to visit Balmoral is one that really piques people's curiosity.
“Royal Caledonian is a fantastic addition to our UK range, and a tour that we know is going to be hugely popular.”
Royal Caledonian is available for departures through September and October 2023, with prices starting from £883 per person, including a 10% saving that is available on all of the operator's Scenery & Nature tours until 2 May. Accommodation, travel, attractions and some breakfasts and dinners are included in the price.
