Independent activity holiday specialist Mark Warner (0845 322 5037 www.markwarner.co.uk) is expanding its collection for 2023, with the opening on 10th May of a new resort in Lesvos – Aeolian Village Beach Resort.  In a major investment programme across the portfolio, new facilities are also being introduced to Mark Warner's other resorts, including a new pool, padel courts and gym at Kamari Beach Resort in Rhodes and a new gym and fitness centre, renovated spa and terrace bar at Phokaia in Turkey.  Guests this summer will also benefit from brand new watersports equipment, Scott bikes and Head tennis equipment at all five resorts.

Whilst each has its own local flavour and style, all Mark Warner resorts offer great beachfront locations, with superb watersports, tennis and cycling, along with exceptional childcare facilities and a relaxed, inclusive atmosphere.  As its many loyal fans will testify, a Mark Warner holiday offers the perfect balance of stretching their comfort zone on the waves or on two wheels, perfecting their topspin, or just switching off by the pool.

New for 2023: Aeolian Village Beach Resort, Lesvos

Tucked into a private corner of Eressos beach, a gorgeous sandy bay on the southwest coast of Lesvos, Aeolian Village Beach Resort is set in mature gardens, against a backdrop of mountains, a short walk from the laid-back seaside village of Skala Eresou.   Offering the friendly and welcoming atmosphere that Mark Warner is renowned for, the resort has a relaxed, boho-chic vibe.  With outstanding sporting facilities, experienced instructors, and exceptional childcare, as well as expertly crafted sundowners, spa facilities and ample sun loungers, it offers guests a perfect holiday balance between activity choices and chilled-out hospitality.

Fitness-oriented guests will be spoilt for choice for activities on land or on the water, with local conditions being ideal for sailing, windsurfing, and rowing.  For those looking to explore the island on two wheels, the quiet roads and tracks that criss-cross Lesvos, which is known as the 'Emerald Isle', are ideal for road and mountain biking.  There are two freshwater pools, whilst daily classes – from stretch to aerobics – can be enjoyed in the new fitness pavilion, and there is also an air-conditioned gym, sauna, whirlpool, and spa area.  Newly opened padel courts will give guests the chance to try their hand at this increasingly popular racquet game, along with three astro tennis courts. The team of tennis staff are available for coaching and guidance, whether in private or group lessons, or in one of the sociable tournaments.

As is the case at all Mark Warner resorts, families can choose from a fantastic choice of daytime activities, run by friendly, experienced teams.  From sailing, windsurfing and water polo for teenagers, to arts and music, beach and pool fun for younger guests. The emphasis is on fun and adventure in a warm and welcoming environment, with six different age-appropriate clubs for children and young people from 4 months to 17 years.

Accommodation is in two distinct areas, with the main hotel wrapped around the pool area, whilst the pretty pastel-coloured buildings of The Village are set up into the hillside behind the hotel, with wonderful views out to the turquoise seas of the Aegean.   With two restaurants and three bars, the resort has the feel of a mini-Greek village and offers a tempting choice of delicious, fresh local dishes with perennial favourites. Whilst just a short walk away, at nearby Skala Eresou, there's a larger selection of cafes, bars and restaurants.   Mark Warner 0845 322 5037 www.markwarner.co.uk offers a week at Aeolian Village Beach Resort from £749 per person.
