The Ruinart Limited Edition by Jeppe Hein is the 1st NFT from Ruinart and comes with an invitation to live an exceptional immersive experience at Maison Ruinart in Reims, France.
In 2022, Maison Ruinart has given Carte Blanche to contemporary artist Jeppe Hein to interpret the history and know-how of the House through his art.
Echoing the sensory installation RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW, the Jeroboam wooden box was whitened with chalk taken directly from the walls of Ruinart's chalk pits in Reims, giving the wood a ceruse-like appearance. Instead of the usual Ruinart label, a rosé-coloured mirror label appears on the front of the Jeroboam, with no writing, recalling the bubbles from the art installation.
Once the Jeroboam has been removed, the box serves as the base for a rose-coloured mirror sculpture evoking both the colour and sparkling bubbles of the champagne. A testimony to the fleeting moment of tasting, this limited edition recalls the sensory experiences in the RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW installation.
RUINART CARTE BLANCHE BY ARTIST JEPPE HEINAfter an immersion in the chalk pits in Reims (known as Crayères) to discover the multi-secular heritage of the Maison Ruinart, you will be invited to share a convivial moment around a 4-course meal prepared by our Resident Chef. Paired with the emblematic cuvées of the House, the menu consists of local and seasonal products, meticulously selected in collaboration with our partner artisans. This gastronomic experience will allow you to (re)discover the emblematic Ruinart Blanc de Blancs and Ruinart Rosé cuvées, as well as the prestigious Dom Ruinart cuvées. Each plate will be served with one of our champagnes.
The Ruinart Jeroboam Rosé represents a conservation method sought after by those who love fine wines. The low volume of air in the large Jeroboam results in slower oxygenation, which favours freshness and aromatic richness. A champagne aged in a jeroboam is more complex and structured in the mouth, while revealing a silky texture during tasting. This exceptional cuvée of Champagne Ruinart Rosé is characterized by a lively and elegant blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, revealing subtle notes of pink (peppermint and grapefruit). The artist particularly liked this cuvée, but also chose it as a tribute to the Maison's visionary spirit: the first champagne house to market, in 1764, a rosé champagne, then called oeil de perdrix (“partridge's eye”).
COLOUR
Coral and rosewood hues are reflected in the colour of this rosé champagne.
NOSE
Intense aromas of exotic fruits emerge at first: pomegranate, lychee and guava, supported by floral essences of Damask rose and freshly picked red fruits. The discovery continues on the second nose, with warm spices such as tonka bean and nutmeg.
TASTE
What seems simple on the surface is not always the case. Simplicity and complexity are combined on the palate of this cuvée where freshness is combined with a fine structure and a delicate roundness. The tasting ends on an elegant note of peppermint and pink grapefruit.
