The Kent countryside will once again be transformed at the spectacular after-dark experience which runs from 18 November until 2 January 2023.
Installations designed by a range of international artists portray the Kent pinetum in a majestic light, beneath unique canopies drenched in seasonal colour and inspired by the landscape to create a festive adventure for all the family.
Tetra Park is a striking new feature by Mandylights, who have been creating incredible artwork experiences in more than 50 countries since 2006.
It is a geometric piece which explores colour progressions through a complicated series of linear pathways. It is made of large-scale colour-changing stars that have been cleverly programmed to music.
Another new installation will be Digital Rain, by Bespsoke Lighting and Video, who specialise in LED technology. This piece, accompanied by a unique soundscape, is made up of multiple batons where the pixel-controlled LED technology has been programmed to resemble falling rain.
Here are five fun facts about this year's trail:
- A total of 12,300 candles are used in the fire garden during the trail's six-week run
- There are more than 100 shapes and patterns which shine on to the buildings and paths
- An installation called The Ghosts comprises 10 crane birds flying in the trees
- Compared to 2021, there is a 30 per cent reduction in generator size
- The Instagram-friendly Christmas Cathedral is 39 metres long
The one-mile winter trail is a place where fairy-tale meets fantasy, with towering trees and larger than life flora providing plenty of fantastic selfie moments.
Independent street food vendors bring a delicious twist to tasty treats on offer. Have yourself a holly, jolly Christmas and complete your walk under the stars with *toasted marshmallows, a *spiced winter warmer or *hot chocolate shared with someone special.
Christmas trails are the perfect way to get together with friends and loved ones, designed for visitors of all ages and is accessible to all to enjoy, just a 20-minute drive from Tunbridge Wells.
