MMPRC to Promote the Maldives at WTM London and UK Roadshow

NOVEMBER 2022: The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC / Visit Maldives) will be exhibiting at WTM London 2022 with the largest-ever delegation to come to the UK. The tourism board and their partners will celebrate the Jubilee Year of Tourism, with 160 representatives from 80 industry partners, in a 420sqm stand space. The UK market is currently the 3rd top source market for the Maldives with more than 133,000 visitors, with a 10,9-market share.

In 50 years, an industry that started with two small resorts merely trying to learn how to cater to foreigners has now developed into an industry with billions with over 170 resorts registered by 2022, and new resorts being developed with each passing year.

Visit Maldives Roadshow – The Ultimate Destination

The purpose of this roadshow is to re-establish and consolidate the UK as one of the key source markets for the Maldives. The roadshow further aims to strengthen trade relationships between potential travel agents and the Maldives industry partners. The target audience for this event includes affluent travel agents, product managers and travel agents.

Last year, Visit the Maldives carried out 260 different marketing activities in 22 global markets, including fairs, roadshows, familiarisation trips, marketing campaigns, webinars, and interviews, emphasising their tourism products (resorts, hotels, guesthouses, liveaboards), and the unique experiences available to visitors in the Maldives. Furthermore, the unique geography of the Maldives and different segments (romance, honeymoon, family, adventure, water sports/dive, & MICE) that country cater to will be highlighted to the visitors to the Maldives stand.
