The doors to Sydney's sleekest new boutique hotel The Porter House Hotel Sydney – MGallery are confirmed to open on Tuesday the 13th of September.

Located on Castlereagh Street, the multi-million luxury hotel occupies the first 10 floors of a 36-storey mixed-use tower within the re-imagined Porter House precinct. Some 131 residential apartments (with their own private entry via Bathurst Street) sit above the new signature MGallery hotel, while a multi-level food and bar destination has been created within the restored 1870s heritage-listed building itself.

The contemporary hotel plays a sophisticated supporting act to the heritage-listed Porter House itself, which has been transformed to become a standalone hospitality precinct. Three different food and beverage venues will sit across four redeveloped levels within the original building.

To celebrate the opening, the hotel has created an opening offer to stay, wine and dine at the new MGallery, and venues within The Porter House.

Opening Offer

Stay two nights or more and save up to 17% on your room rate at The Porter House Hotel Sydney – MGallery.   Hotel guests who book this offer will also receive a $50 food and beverage credit to spend at the Porter House venues (Dixson & Sons + Henry's Bread & Wine).

The offer starts from $389 per night (from $778 for a two-night stay), for a Superior Room stay, and is valid for stays between 13th September and  22nd December 2022.

The offer must be booked prior to the 31st of October 2022, and black-out dates and conditions may apply.

About The Porter House Sydney - MGallery

A stylish, urban sanctuary in every way, The Porter House Hotel Sydney – MGallery is designed by award-winning architect Angelo Candelapas of Candelapas Associates. The ultra-modern tower has been built around the heritage-listed Porter House on two sides (and if you look up, sits above the building too), for a look that is different but never disconnected. Instead, the new-build hotel pays homage to The Porter House's history and Sydney's bustling Victorian commercial era - albeit in a current way - with a modern take on old designs such as contemporary curved windows that reference the original building's iconic brick archways.

Originally commissioned in 1876 by Australia's leading tobacco manufacturer Hugh Dixson (also a notable philanthropist and horticulturist), The Porter House started life as Dixson & Sons tobacco factory and warehouse. In 1891, furniture manufacturer WW Campbell & Co and famous leather merchant George Johnson & Sons leased the building from the Dixson family, further cementing the site - and now the hotel's - historical association to quality artisanship.

MGallery is a collection of exclusive, design-led boutique hotels, each with its own original design and unique stories to tell. Once open, Porter House Hotel – MGallery will become the 11th MGallery branded address in Australia and New Zealand and join a network of 112 MGallery hotels in 36 different countries globally.
