The Carpenters Arms in Great Wilbraham has fully reopened following a dramatic refurbishment, increase in capacity and the addition of bedrooms.

The 250-year-old traditional village pub has been completely transformed with an impressive glazed extension and incorporating an old stable into the building as the new open kitchen.

Emulating another Chestnut property -, The Weeping Willow – the most 'Instagrammable' pub in Suffolk – the restaurant will include a striking glass front, which wraps itself around the rear of the pub, filling the colourful, vibrant interiors with light and air, bringing the outdoors, indoors.

The history of the building is celebrated with exposed beams, warm oaks and open fires, paired with bold modern prints, adding snapshots of colour and texture. The dining and pub experience will also include new communal tables, benches and an open plan kitchen, in keeping with the community feel that The Carpenters Arms is known and loved for.

The Carpenters Arms is surrounded by a wealth of local suppliers and produce where the Head Chef, Seb Mansfield, will be creating a seasonal menu of the best modern British food that East Anglia has to offer, from breakfast through to evening meals seven days a week.

Along with restoring the restaurant and pub, the four onsite bedrooms have also been newly decorated and have been thoughtfully designed to be pooch perfect including doggy beds and treats where four legged friends are welcome.
