Reserve Your Spot in History at Downtown Roanoke's New Boutique Hotel

Savara Hospitality

March 18, 2022 (Roanoke, VA) - On December 26th in 1910, The Liberty Trust Bank Building opened its doors to the public. Savara Hospitality is pleased to announce that 111 years later, the historic seven-story building that was once considered the most modern and innovative structure of its era now welcomes the public in its new life as downtown Roanoke's first luxury boutique hotel.

The hotel is the only member of the prestigious Preferred Hotels & Resorts, Connect Collection in Virginia's Blue Ridge. All guests of The Liberty Trust are eligible to enroll in the I Prefer Hotel Rewards program, which extends points redeemable for cash-value Reward Certificates, elite status, and special benefits such as complimentary Internet to members upon every stay at more than 650 participating Preferred Hotels & Resorts locations worldwide. You can also book direct at www.libertytrusthotel.com.

To celebrate the opening and give local residents a chance to visit the stunning lobby, the hotel is partnering with Chocolate Paper to host a series of special wine and chocolate tastings to benefit Junior Achievement. Beginning Friday April 1, 2022, the tastings will be held from 5-7 p.m. in the grand vault. Tickets are $20 per person and will be available at Chocolate Paper on Market Street or by registering online at https://secure.qgiv.com/for/jaosv/event/847104/.

On the National Register of Historic Places and a Virginia Historic Landmark, The Liberty Trust is a luxury boutique hotel located on the corner of S. Jefferson Street and Salem Ave NW in Downtown Roanoke, Virginia. The property has just completed a full historic restoration, where original features of the building including the grand marble lobby with its soaring columns and walk- in safe, as well as the stunning copper doors found throughout the building and guest rooms, have been preserved.

Combining the quintessence of historic Roanoke with modern luxury, The Liberty Trust's 54 guest rooms vary in size from petite to classic to deluxe, featuring either a single king bed, a single queen bed or two queen beds as well as hand selected furnishing and sophisticated decor. In addition to offering historic elegance, the hotel's guest rooms provide state-of-the art, modern amenities including flat screen TVs with premium high-definition channels and streaming capabilities, in-room mini refrigerators, Nespresso coffee makers with complimentary supplies, Bluetooth speakers, Molton Brown bath products, complimentary slippers, and complimentary high-speed Internet access. Guests may also access a complimentary fitness app and borrow yoga mats and resistance bands for their in-room workout. Select accessible and pet friendly rooms will be available upon direct request. The Mezzanine Board Room at The Liberty Trust offers over400 square-feet of sophisticated space for intimate meetings and events.

Prior to the renovation of the building, the Salvage Dawgs' crew from Roanoke's Black Dog Salvage filmed an episode at the Liberty Trust for season 11 of their popular DIY Network show. Mike, Robert, Tay, Ted and Grayson explored the building from roof to basement to find and remove architectural elements. Mike Whiteside of Black Dog has also created a console table from salvaged safe doors that will be located in the lobby. Local architect Robert Pilkington of Balzer & Associates worked with the developers on the renovations of the building, while Glave & Holmes based in Richmond, Virginia assisted with interior design. RL Price Construction of Salem was the general contractor and Roanoke-based Hill Studio consulted on historic preservation and restoration.

The property will be operated by Savara Hospitality, which also operates the historic Linden Row Inn in Richmond and the Meadowbrook Inn and Mountainaire Inn & Log Cabins in Blowing Rock, North Carolina.
