Lightwater Valley

Nestled on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and just a few miles from Ripon, Lightwater Valley Family Adventure Park offers a day out bursting with activities and experiences for the whole family to enjoy.

The park, which re-opens on Saturday 26th March for the 2022 season, sees a variety of brand-new adventures, attractions, and activities to enjoy, plus a special new character to welcome visitors to the park.

Ebor the Lightwater Dragon loves to meet and greet visitors, have his photo taken and even join in a dance-off or two. The friendly dragon is at the heart of the park's new re-brand, as well as its daily entertainment programme throughout the year.

There is a whole host of brand-new attractions for the 2022 season, including an amusement arcade brimful of exciting games from classic fairground coin pushers to state-of-the-art Virtual Reality experiences.

Visitors can immerse themselves in the new Hall of Mirrors, a room full of distortions that will have the family giggling all day, before enjoying the timeless appeal of the Dodgems ride.

Nature lovers will adore the new 'Discovery Woods', an interactive outdoor experience featuring a lakeside nature trail, mud kitchen and bug hotels, as well as pond dipping and cloud gazing.

And don't forget with more than 35 rides and attractions including family favourites the Eagle's Claw, Skyrider and of course the Lady Bird rollercoaster, the fun simply never stops.

Step aboard the Savanna Express for a journey through the African wilderness, twist and turn on the Little Dipper or plunge into Splash Falls on a rubber dinghy. For gentler thrills, there's fairground fun with the traditional carousel ride, the Lightwater Express train, Swan Boats and indoor Soft Play.

In the park's tree tops, visitors can discover an aerial woodland walk with a difference, as they bounce around giant trampoline nets suspending high above the park. Tree Top Trails covers over 2,000 square metres and is the biggest of its kind in the UK.
up to 12 metres from the ground.

All the fun of the park is bound to build an appetite and 2022 sees an extended food offering for visitors to indulge in, including the Big Fish Trading Company, serving the best fish and chips in Yorkshire and Luigi's all you can eat Pizza & Pasta Restaurant, as well as a new range of healthy, veggie and vegan options.
