Tickets are on sale now to hear Felix (pictured above) speak about his new thriller, which is set in the ritzy Alpine destination of St Moritz and features the famous horse race on the frozen lake.
The novelist will also reflect on life assisting his father, the crime writer and National Hunt jockey Dick Francis, with the creation of his award-winning books, many of which were set in Newmarket. There will also be a chance to ask Felix questions and get a personally signed copy of his new book.
Felix has written 10 successful novels since Dick's death in 2010, using the same gripping formula beloved by generations of his father's fans. He will explain how he researches storylines about the world of horseracing and creates pacy prose and compelling action starring resourceful heroes and deadly villains.
Discover Newmarket launched a unique new guided tour based on the writings of Dick Francis earlier this year. "On The Trail of Dick Francis" visits many of the places that the author knew from his horseracing days and used in the plots he based in Newmarket, such as the Rowley Mile Racecourse, the scene of a bomb plot in Dead Heat.
The Felix Francis talk and book signing will take place at 4pm on Wednesday 8 December at the historic Jockey Club Rooms (pictured) in Newmarket. Tickets cost £15 per person, including a glass of Prosecco. Copies of Iced will be available to buy.
"On The Trail of Dick Francis" costs £25 per person and includes a cream tea. Upcoming dates for the two-hour public tour include 3 December, and, in 2022, 12 February, 16 April, 20 August and 19 November. Private tours are also available.
