Last call for the remaining places on this year's Lumiere Durham 2021 press trip on Thursday 18 - Friday 19 November 2021.
Enjoy a visit to Durham in North East England and take in the UK's leading light festival in the city and across the county as well as enjoying some of the highlights of other attractions across Durham.
Lumiere 2021 will reimagine the historic contours of county and city, politics and society, through dramatic installations, spellbinding projections, and quiet and poignant works, showcasing the infinite possibilities of light art in all its forms.
On Thursday 18 November after lunch visit some of the 'Marks in the Landscape' installations in County Durham before exploring the Lumiere Festival in the city in the evening. Then the trip will take in some of the other highlights across the county on Friday 19 November before heading home.

AM – The Spanish Gallery - Immerse yourself in the Spanish Golden Age at the UK's first gallery dedicated to the art, history and culture of Spain.
Opened in October 2021 The Spanish Gallery tells a story of Golden Age Spanish art during the 16th and 17th centuries, exploring how its artists expressed the tension between man's yearning for eternity and the self-evident transience of life.
Lunch at The Spanish Gallery or The Bowes Museum
PM – The Bowes Museum
The Bowes Museum is a hidden treasure, a jewel in the heart of beautiful Teesdale. The magnificent building stands proud in the historic market town of Barnard Castle housing internationally significant collections of fine and decorative arts.
PM - Castle of Light at Raby Castle
Projections will magically transform the lakeside façade of Durham's famous 14th-century fortress. The Spanish artist Javier Riera, responds to Raby Castle's unique architecture with a mind-bending and meditative series of geometric shapes that play with and echo its fortress exterior, seeking out the hidden qualities and dimensions of the exterior fabric of the building.

Lumiere is produced by Artichoke and commissioned by Durham County Council and will take place in Durham from Thursday 18 – Sunday 21 November 2021.
37 artworks include six major new works to light up landmark locations across County Durham, which will see Lumiere expanding out from Durham City for the first time. Highlights include:
A newly commissioned work in collaboration with Durham University, New Writing North, and leading international poets, whose illuminated words will be projected onto Durham Castle
A video-mapped journey from reflection to celebration on Durham Cathedral's facade
Lumiere's first online interactive artwork that allows anyone to take part from wherever they are
Covid-secure measures will be in place, including ticketed time slots throughout the event to manage audience numbers in the controlled central Lumiere zone and clear protocols for all working on the festival.
