Flambards Theme Park

Cornish Theme Park Flambards has responded to unprecedented demand for tickets this summer by adding more opening dates to its September schedule.

The theme park, near Helston, has proved hugely popular with all visitors from within and outside the county, resulting in an extended run over the coming weeks.

General manager Richard Welby said: “It has been a great year so far for us and the support we have been shown from all of our visitors has been truly humbling. We made the decision to significantly reduce our admission prices this year, our August firework nights returned to a fantastic reception and we reduced the costs of our season cards, passing on all available savings directly to our guests.

“As a thank you to all of our visitors for their incredible support, understanding and kindness shown to all of the team here, we have added additional dates to our operational calendar over the coming weeks.”

The rides and attractions will be open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and weekends throughout the month. Highlights include the Hornet rollercoaster, the SkyRaker, Thunderbolt and Colorado River log flume. For those feeling really brave, the Sky-Force whizzes high above the park.

The park is also opening for indoor attractions dates on Thursdays, for those visitors just wishing to explore the Victorian Village.

Whilst exploring the cobbled streets of the 19th century, families can also take on the Whodunit Trail and hunt for clues amongst original artefacts from the Victorian period.

There is a life-sized village including the local pub, greengrocer's, ironmonger's, butcher's, shoemaker's and even an apothecary – everything from a schoolroom and blacksmith's to the fire station.

Other indoor attractions beyond the Victorian Village include Britain in the Blitz, the Chemist Shop Time Capsule and much more.

For the younger visitors, there's plenty of rides and play in Ferdi's Funland. There are life-sized dinosaurs on an adventure in Jurassic Journey and a Dino-Nursery housing the latest arrivals, with a chance to join the dino-dig to unearth fossils.

Flambards will be reopening daily for October half term from October 23-31, with an evening Fireworks Spectacular on Wednesday, October 27.
