

Cortina, Italy (6 August 2021): Grand Hotel Savoia Cortina d'Ampezzo, the iconic property within the heart of the Dolomites, recently reopened following an extensive $10 million two-year renovation and proudly announces a series of summer musical events together with a special summer stay package to celebrate. The five-star hotel is the hotspot of Cortina, inviting guests to leave the ordinary behind and discover the hotel's exceptional experiences.
The summer festivities begin at 1224 Bar Lounge with the “DUET Cortina Sunset” series, a set of musical performances held every Saturday from July 24 through August 28, along with a special performance on Sunday, August 15. Talented local musicians and vocalists will entertain guests including Jasmine Terrell, Sara Bradaschia, Steve Biondi and Josmil Neris, amongst others. Beginning at 6pm, guests will enjoy a delightful evening underneath the stars amidst the breathtaking backdrop of the Dolomite mountains while indulging in 1224 Bar Lounge's enchanting aperitivo and cocktails, along with a delicious array of culinary delights.
Also debuting in August is the Bösendorfer Lounge at Grand Hotel Savoia, featuring charismatic musical events with internationally renowned Italian classical pianist Roberto Prosseda and special guests for dazzling experiences. Prosseda will also be Grand Hotel Savoia's artist in residence for the latter half of August, allowing guests to immerse themselves in music and dialogue.
The hotel's five-star Dolomia event space transforms into an alluring venue to host a series of highly engaging events: Bösendorfer Lounge. Presented in collaboration with CortinAteatro, and cooperating with Bösendorfer, the prestigious Viennese piano manufacturer and Yamaha Music Europe, on August 13, the internationally acclaimed pianist and Decca exclusive artist Roberto Prosseda and former World Cup Italian alpine ski racer Kristian Ghedina will host a fireside chat and musical performance “Musica & Sport”, discovering the parallels between music and skiing, while on August 17 Roberto Prosseda will delve into the music of Ennio Morricone for a night of “Musica & Cinema” with director Angelo Bozzolini and cellist A. Sanchez Malaga. The final evening of August 20 will include Roberto Prosseda in a “piano" conversation about Music & Entrepreneurship, with special guests Giovanni Iannantuoni of Yamaha Music, Paola Dubini, Associate Professor Department of Management and Technology at Università Bocconi and Giuseppe Leogrande, Commissioner of Alitalia. Mattia Rondelli, orchestra conductor and artistic director for the events will join his friend Roberto Prosseda during these conversations.
The Dolomia sala event space will also transform into a beautiful exposition of Music & Design by award-winning Milan-based product designer Dodo Arslan during the dates of August 13 – 23, 2021.
Grand Hotel Savoia will offer guests the unforgettable experience of becoming an orchestra within the natural refuge of the Dolomites. These morning musical excursions begin in Piè Tofana the morning of August 19 at 11:00 for an immersion in Bolero and on August 21 at 11:00 at Son Forca, guests can explore classic rock. In case of bad weather, these excursions will be held in Grand Hotel Savoia's Dolomia room. Grand Hotel Savoia is also home to this year's Savoia Cup 2021, Cortina's thrilling annual summer sporting event. Organized in partnership with the Tennis Country Club Cortina in the heart of the Dolomites, the great VIP tennis and padel team challenge will be held on August 20th and August 21st and 1224 Bar Lounge will host a number of exciting activities for participants and fans to enjoy.
