Saint Lawrence Gap, Barbados – July 1, 2021 – Ocean Hotels Group, the prestigious family-owned collection of Barbados hotels and resorts, announces the October 2021 opening of O2 Beach Club & Spa, a new five-star all-inclusive luxury boutique hotel located in the exquisite South Coast of Barbados. Set on a serene stretch of powder white sand along Dover Beach, the resort has been aptly named “O2,” as a nod to the symbol of oxygen, the element as natural and life essential as the act of breathing.
After months of transforming the previous Ocean Two Resort & Residences and expanding the property with 42 new ocean view and oceanfront suites, the new O2 Beach Club & Spa will offer 130 luxurious rooms and suites in three distinct “Collections”: Club, Luxury and Concierge. Guests can enjoy the resort's variety of amenities, such as three serene pools, including one of the only rooftop pools on the island; six dining experiences; seven bars; the 5,600-square foot, full service Acqua spa; a fully equipped fitness center; and a teen lounge for young adults to have their own space.
The Club Collection will feature elegant and modern rooms offering king or twin beds with en-suite bathrooms complete with invigorating rainfall showers, while the Luxury Collection will be comprised of adult-only suites that offer chic contemporary design and private balconies with views of the Caribbean Sea. Options in the Luxury Collection include ocean view or oceanfront suites, as well as swim-up rooms offering direct access to the adult-only river pool, where guests can also easily access H2O, O2 Beach Club & Spa's new swim-up bar. The Concierge Collection will offer the ultimate indulgence, providing the luxury of space with one or two-bedroom suites with fully equipped designer kitchens. These unique residence-style suites truly lend themselves to the resort's “your stay, your way” personalization concept.

The resort's stunning new Acqua spa features the only Hammam treatment room on the island of Barbados and breathtaking ocean views from its eighth-floor location. Acqua's signature treatments are inspired by healing through water. The all-inclusive experience includes limitless access to the resort's six exceptional dining experiences and seven bars, complimentary non-motorized watersports, a full activities program, and daily signature “how-to” classes, featuring engaging topics such as how to prepare local recipes, how to play the steel pan drum, and how to play dominoes like a local, for guests to return from their travels with new skills and an authentic taste of local culture.
The culinary heart of O2 will be Elements, where breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served in an open-air space with a stunning crescent-shaped bar overlooking the beach, and a fabulous sun terrace with cabanas and jacuzzi tubs to laze away the days. Bluefin Beachside Grill will offer swimsuit-friendly, toes-in-the-sand daytime dining, while Brisa will be a rooftop tapas lounge with endless ocean views, shady pergolas, and comfortable seating, perfect for sunset cocktails and star-gazing nights. The ninth floor will feature Oro, a fine dining experience offering modern fusion European cuisine with a Caribbean twist and 360-degree views of the south coast. Evenings at Oro will include a nightly sunset celebration featuring Champagne and canapes on the sky terrace. Barbados travel protocols are seamless and effective. As of June 7, 2021, fully vaccinated adults are asked to present proof of a COVID-19 standard PCR test three days prior to arrival. Upon arrival to the Barbados airport, they will be given a free rapid PCR test, and then can await the results of their on-island test as they lounge by the pool at the resort, with results back in 8-24 hours. With a negative result, they are invited to enjoy the rest of the gorgeous island of Barbados. Children follow the protocols of their parents.
