Designer hotel collection, Ovolo announces the curated team of leaders who will open Ovolo South Yarra and elevate the property to fit the group's award-winning reputation. The highly experienced team of hospitality professionals bring more than 25 years' combined experience in their fields and promise to deliver success for Ovolo South Yarra.
Amy Moylan has been appointed General Manager of Ovolo South Yarra. Previously General Manager of Ovolo Laneways for the last three years, Amy has played a key role in the hotel's success. Mentoring her team of leaders and fine-tuning her own distinct and inspiring leadership style.
Amy is set to engage with South Yarra locals and businesses with plans to introduce the hotel's distinct personality, a collision of retro chic and pop art, to the local community, through the celebration of the brand's F.A.M.E pillars - fashion, art, music and entrepreneurship.
“Working, living and holidaying around the world over the past two decades has given me the ideal background into the world of lifestyle travel. I'm thrilled to be able to bring my experiences and ideas to life to ensure all of our guests, receive individualised and world class service – the Ovolo way,” Amy says of the role.
Ovolo recently revealed Ovolo South Yarra's food and drink offering, Lona Misa, will be in collaboration with renowned Melbourne chefs Shannon Martinez (Smith & Daughters, Smith & Daughters Deli) and Ian Curley (French Saloon, Kirk's Wine Bar).
As Creative Culinary Partners, Martinez and Curley will oversee the heavily vegan and vegetarian menus across the all-day café, bar and restaurant. Working closely with local farmers and producers, to source all fresh ingredients. With decades of experience in European fine and bistro dining, Curley along with vegan chef and author Martinez, will curate a produce led plant-based menu, paying homage to Martinez' Latin roots.
The appointment of Jacqueline Rosenstengel, as Director of Food & Beverage brings over 15 years' experience to the team. Most recently as Food and Beverage Manager of The Olsen, part of the Art Series group, Jacqueline brings local knowledge of the South Yarra dining scene. “I remain passionate about the industry for so many reasons. I love that every day is different and enjoy creating memorable experiences for our customers. Combining amazing vegetarian and vegan food with great drinks and atmosphere is exactly what South Yarra needs”. Jacqueline adds with excitement.
The leadership appointments at Ovolo South Yarra promise to continue the success of Ovolo Hotels. To implement the highest standard of service and offering, allowing Ovolo to continue to push the boundaries, improve on existing concepts and launch new and unique innovations within the industry.
