Visit Cornwall has appointed Newquay-based Hope Yard PR to generate awareness of the incredible tourism offering in Cornwall around this year's G7 summit taking place in June at Carbis Bay.

The travel and lifestyle specialists have been tasked with maximising the G7 exposure through a PR campaign targeting the travel press both in the UK and most importantly in key overseas markets. The brief will see the trio of Samantha Kirton, Lucy Jenner-Brown and Hayley Newnham share messaging around Cornwall's appeal to international press while showcasing the lesser-known spots, attractions and out of season highlights with their UK media contacts.

“We were really impressed by the level of understanding, clarity and strong programme of activity presented by the team,” says Malcolm Bell, Chief Executive of Visit Cornwall. “This is a fantastic opportunity to present Cornwall to the world and lay the foundations for a lasting tourism legacy of growing international visitors, who mostly visit in the shoulder season when we need and can easily cope with additional high spending guests. We know we're in safe hands and are delighted to have Hope Yard PR on board at such a seminal time.”

Cornwall continues to top the list as one of the most popular destinations for UK holidaymakers. Meanwhile, Visit Britain research shows that overseas visitors are searching for countryside and coastline over cities, seeking less crowded places and outdoor experiences. International travellers have a thirst for 'accommodation plus experiences', small, quality and characterful places to stay and Cornwall has this in spades.

Launched at the outset of the pandemic, Hope Yard PR has a growing portfolio of aspirational lifestyle clients. Other recent additions include: Soon to relaunch Hotel Meudon and luxury resort Una St Ives; sustainable swimwear company, Davy J; eco homeware brand, Liga; health and wellbeing brand, Conscious Spaces and Cornwall's newest outdoor adrenaline centre, Via Ferrata Cornwall.
