WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (December 14, 2020) – Discover The Palm Beaches (DTPB), the official destination marketing organization charged with promoting Palm Beach County as a leisure travel and meetings destination, is excited to welcome Lindsey Wiegmann as the new director of public relations and social media. In this role, Wiegmann will develop, manage and drive all public relations strategies as it contributes to the overall success of the organization. She will work alongside the existing team, and with DTPB's public relations agency of record, The Zimmerman Agency, strategizing and executing initiatives.
“We're excited to add Lindsey to our leadership team to help lead DTPB's communications strategy,” said Rich Basen, senior vice president of marketing, leisure sales & community engagement. “Bringing with her an extensive public relations background working for large and small agencies along the east coast, Lindsey has the perfect mix of experience to help us deliver on PR strategies that work to increase visitation, group business and economic impact in Palm Beach County.”
Wiegmann has over 14 years of experience working on integrated marketing campaigns and has spent the last seven years of her career deeply rooted in travel and hospitality PR. Working for South Florida agencies such as Hemsworth Communications and Hill + Knowlton Strategies, she has serviced clients such as Best Western Hotels & Resorts, Red Roof, Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line and individual properties like Sonesta Fort Lauderdale Beach and Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort.
“In my new role as director of PR and social media, I look forward to continuing the outstanding efforts this healthy organization has started,” commented Wiegmann. “To get to work with such a lively, vibrant destination that has so much to offer travelers is a dream, and I am grateful they have welcomed me with 'Open Palms.'”
